Hello,

You've activated Euro mode. This is toggled by pressing holding the Fn key plus an Fkey that has an icon in the same color as the lettering on the Fn key that looks like the Euro symbol. Press the Fn key plus the Euro key to toggle out of Euro mode.

I thought I had posted back to you, wanting to know what country you are in, but it must have been another customer.

Are you in the US or another country. I will send you the keyboard driver for the country you are in and this driver once installed should get your keyboard straightened out.

Let me know so I can help you further.

Jumbled keyboard numbers

Are you typing on your laptop and notice the text has become illegible? What should be letters, have become numbers or symbols. This odd behavior can probably be explained be peering a little closer at your keyboard. Those little numbers on the keys. These numbers and symbols normally become active when you hold down the function key, usually labeled as the "FN" key. The "FN" key is similar to the Shift key, activating a second function assigned to a key. It can become active seemingly on it's own because a key is locked in the on position.

Before performing numerous key combinations, try the simple thing of lightly tapping the "FN" or "Num Lock" 5 to 6 times. There may be a small particle of something logged under the key that you can loosen, move, or crush down. Do not bang the keys, just press normally. Next focus on the "Numlock" key which usually located with the "Print Screen" and "Pause" key on the top right of your keyboard. Press the "Numlock" key, then press a scrambled key to see if it's normal. Older model laptops may require you hold down at the same time, the "Ctrl-Shift-Numlock" keys. Newer models may require holding down the "Shift" key and pressing the "Numlock" key. Turn off the Function key with the following combinations. Hold down the "FN" key and hit the "Numlock", Hold down the "FN" key and hit the "Scroll" key and Hold down at the same time "Fn+F12+Num Lock"

Hold down the blue "fn" button when you press the key, it will give you the alternate character.

Instead of getting the @ symbol when I press shift +2 i get "

you need to hold down ctrl and function on the left side of your keyboard, and then hit the shift key on the right side of your keyboard. Then let go of right shift while still holding down the control and function keys, and then hit right shift again.

these blue keys are french keys. if you change your keyboard settings to english US or UK, it will get rid of the blue functions, but for some reason, they tend to turn themslves back on again after time. Most likely due to automatic updates followed by an auto restart. Also, I find that the issue only arises if I am in my hotmail account.....no issue in Word docs.

To the right of the keyboard is the 'ALT GR' ("alternate graphic") key.
Hold that key down, and press the '@' key.

You need to press the NUM Lock key.
The NUM lock key is usually the same key as the ScrLk key but to select the NUM lock you need to press and hold down the Shift key and then press the NumLk/ScrLk key. A LED light will light up to indicate the number keypad is on.

Ibm t30 keyboard stuck in odd mode

First, if there is no Euro symbol then this isn't a European keyboard, or it was made before the Euro was introduced, which I believe is the issue in this case, and there's nothing that can be done to get the Euro into the system. As far as the function key is concerned, you may need to do a bios flash or update in order to restore the function key features. Do the flash/update and get back to me.

As ! is above 1 so for ! you have to press Shift + 1, same as @ is above 2 show for @ you have to press Shift + 2, simalarly # is above three so for # you have to press Shift + 3........... is it clear.....then... :)) ... otherwise Ask me again.
