I have been using the tv with my sony ps3 to play my blueray dvd's etc. using an HDMI cable all of a sudden I cannot get a picture anymore. I think maybe my HDMI input on TV has gone bad. Can I replace/fix this myself my purchasing a card?

Yes you can replace the input board, but that is fairly expensive. HDMI cables can go bad, have you tried a different HDMI cable? Also try hooking up another device to the HDMI input to see if it might be in the Playstation3.

How do i program my sony dvd player dvp.sr200p to work on my philips tv

No special programming is required. Connect the DVD player to the TV using an HDMI cable. Note which input jack you used on the TV (example: HDMI 1 or HDMI 2, etc.) Turn on the DVD player and insert a DVD disc and play it. Turn on the TV and select the input you used to connect the DVD player (example: HDMI 1 or HDMI 2, etc.). You should now see and hear the DVD disc playing. Most settings are pre-set at the factory so everything will work without adjustment. However, both the DVD player and the TV have a Menu where you can adjust settings for picture, sound, etc. if desired.

Ps3 will play dvd in tv mode but not in hdmi but will play games in both modes

Is the DVD you are trying to play a burned copy? or blueray/HD? Some DVD's will not play in HD because they are NOT HD.

I wonder if this above is not what is happening?
or
Sometimes, the actual HDMI cable, is different... perhaps your new DVD has a differing cable version?
or
Or maybe it is simply that the DVD is 1080p and your set only does 780i ?? Or whatever combination it is mismatched?

When my ps3 is on 720p or 1080i there is this white fuzzy line that oulines certain images on the tv such a faces and clouds and such.. but when its on 480p its fine.. i bought a new HDMI cable thinking it...

This happens when using hdmi for me, free to air digital tv is fine, but playing games has the exact same problems as you describe, and even dvd's etc do it, but not very noticeable at all, needs to be slow paced with a high contrast in in the picture usually.

When tv is wired to media center and then to blueray dvd , disc will not play. Non blueray disc will play. When tv wired directly to blueray player, blueray disc runs fine. Cables are hdmi

Hi.

When you say disk will not play I assume the BRD player does not start playing.

If the Blue ray unit does not start at all and stays in stand by , then the HDMI cable you are using to connect to TV, or HDMI port on TV may be defective.
Try replacing cable and swapping HDMI ports.

Pretty much the same problem

I have the same system. I have a Lifestyle and a Sony TV with a Samsung Blueray player. I also have an X-box 360, plus my pc with all my CDs (I-tunes) plays through my bose. Do this:

1. Use the optical cable for the blueray player to the Bose (AUX).
2. Use a digital audio cable from the cable box (either black or orange output) to the Bose CBL-SAT digital input. (it's a single audio cable)
3. For my PC, I'm using a digital cable from the pc to the Bose. I'm using the TV output because it's empty.
4. For my x-box (which I'm not too happy about) I'm using regular red-white audio cables from Bose TV input directly to the TV audio out. (You can play all of the above through this channel, but don't).

I figured the most important high quality sound should come from the blueray player and from watching regular cable tv. For picture, you should be using all HDMI connections.

Hope this helps.

Dell w3000 & PS3

This may not be DVI issue.
I connected DVD player HDMI ----> DVI ( Dell W3000) LCD TV.
Later I found that Dell TV version of DVI does not support HDCP protocol ( High Definition Content Protection protocol). So I could not play HDMI to DVI movies from my DVD player instead I use Y Pb Pr -- this works ok.

Hope this helps... I am not use PS3 enforces HDCP - I assume Sony linked with Sony Pictures would enforce HDCP on HDMI cable.
