Question about Kyocera Finecam S3 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Although this camera will work when plugged into the mains and functions normally, it will not work off its battery - I have bought a new batttery and the camera does not seem to be able to charge it - just like the original battery. No lights flash at all.

The problem is clearly in the charging circuits of the adapter, the only other thing is check the connecting pins on the adapter, "by cleaning the points" if this fails, the unit will need to be dis-assembled for repair or replaced.

Standby power does not work

The question is confusing. What did you replace the battery in, the battery back up power supply or the transmitter? The 300MC is just the transmitter and changing that battery has nothing to do with whether the main power unit will function if you unplug it. Now, if you replaced the large battery in the opener itself, it needs to fully charge before it will function properly so give it about 24 hours to charge with the power cord plugged in and then try again. It should work IF you attached the wires to the CORRECT terminals on the battery, positive to positive and negative to negative. If you did not, reverse them, allow the battery to charge 24 hours plugged in and try again. If you installed it in reverse there is a chance you fried the circuit board and that means you will not be able to use the backup feature although the opener may function normally without it.

I bought a HP CA 350 digital camera of 10 Mpx I use Ni-Mh batteries of 2500 mAh (adjusted on the camera) and although the batteries are not exhausted it happens the camera to switch off previously...

Try new batteries which are not rechargeable and see if the camera works correctly. Ni-Mh batteries can cause problems. Firstly, a standard non-rechargeable battery will be 1.5V but rechargeable batteries are only 1.2V. So if your camera takes two batteries, it requires 3V, but is only getting 2.4V. The battery monitoring circuit in the camera will be looking at the voltage of the batteries to determine if the voltage is dropping to the point where the cammera cannot function. As the camera draws more current from the batteries during certain functions e.g. zoomingor charging the flash, the battery voltage can dip with rechargeable batteries and this may cause the camera to think that the batteries are running out of charge.

hi

my hunch its the battery that has gone down on the power

the camera with all the lenses and autofocus and the lcd takes a lot more power than the review
try a new set of battteries and just as well try a radio shack nearby to electro start the battery

Palm tungsten e2 will not turn on, replaced batttery,

Plug you E2 into your PC for 8 hours to slow charge. Press reset button on back and later in life your E2 will come on by itself.

Rechargable batteries drain as soon as they are put in the camera

Your circuit board has developed a short. There is only one way to fix it, replace the main circuit board. Buy an A530 camera with a cracked LCD online from someone, to fix it.

File failed message

The same thing happens to me when I try to record thru the "A/V in jack". It appears (my first thought) that the camera is trying to record to the internal drive and it runs out of memory really quick. But then, when I play it back, (the small 15 seconds or so) the audio and video are not sync'd. Most of the time at least. Very inconsistent. It also locked up and froze for me too. I had to remove the battery to reset it. Once or twice it recorded normal, (once when I reset the default settings and another time just out of the blue) - I thought I had it solved but it went back to "File Failed" after about 17-20 seconds of recording on the next record session.

I have the thing packed up ready to take back, but am looking for a solution so I can keep it..

Keeps saying low battery but has new batteries I have the same problem. New batteries but camera shows low battery and only stays on for 2-3 minutes.

Your camera is a power hog. Try using the new high power battteries. Ther are expensive but generally work in this situation. There could also be a problem with the camera, I can't rule that out.
