Question about Acer Aspire Notebook
You may have cracked or broken the FL tube (backlight) or the inverter board has failed.
If the tube is broken, it needs to be replaced (or you can replace the whole LCD if you find one cheap).
If it's the inverter board, look for a microfuse on the inverter board (the one connected to the FL tube). These fuses will sometimes go for no reason. Check it for continuity with an ohm meter.
If the fuse is good, you may need to get the inverter board replaced.
To find out if you damaged the fl tube, you have to open up the LCD panel.
This is not a job for the faint of heart, and you have to be really careful not to damage anything.
They usually shatter when they break too, so be careful there.
You may just want to tap the backlight area to see if you hear rattling glass.
Check for loose or dislodged cables while you're in there.
