Question about Canon ZR65MC Mini DV Digital Camcorder

1 Answer

My Canon ZR 65 will not record or play. I keep getting a "Remove Cassette" message. Camera is dry inside and out, no moisture collecting anywhere, so not sure why I'm getting this message.

Use a hairdryer to get any moisture out that has built up on the ribbon cables.

Put the camcorder in a warm dry place for a few hours, there is moisture inside the unit, that triggers the humidity sensor and shuts the camera off. If after drying the camcorder for a reasonable time it still will not function you will need to get it repaired.

Strange, if there is indeed moisture in the device, you could try an un-agressive approach of putting the device in a bag of rice.

Alternatively, if your clothes dryer has a rack, you could try leaving the camcorder in there for 15 min or so on medium. As soon as you remove the device from the dryer, attach a vacuum cleaner to an area of the camera such as where the battery would go, to **** fresh air through it... This will evacuate any mosture still in the device and is by far the best method in my opinion.

MX2, it displays the following: "remove the cassette" or eject. I thought it was a condensation problem but all attempts failed, please help me.

On Canon camcorders, "remove the tape" error is due to no data reading by video head. You may have clogged heads or somewhere along the area. Initially, I would try to insert good clean "video head cleaning tape" and run for about 7 seconds and see if that resolve the symptom. If it persists, it need a help from a technician. Good Luck. Cassate tape will not eject from my Canon ZR85 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

I found a temporary solution for this problem. When the tray with the cassette tape comes out remove the battery so that the tray will not go inside again. Now on top of the tray it will be written as "PRESS" just adjucent to it you can see a spring connected to the tray just press the string down wards and the tray opens and you can replace the battery. Hope this can help.

Canon ZR100 Mini DV Digital Camcorder Problem

I have a Canon4.gif ZR 10 And it does say remove cassette often and recently it eat the tape and destroyed our recordings.
Does this have something to do was the round small battery1.gif in the front part of the camcorder?

Is this a consumer complaint I feel uncomfortable because we have alot of Cassettes recorded and we are afraid to play them because it might chew them up.
There is a mini cassette player2.gif that can play the cassetes ????

Need Help!!!! What am I going to do ??? PNicioli@sbcglobal.net

Remove The Casette Message

THESE CAMERAS ARE PEICES OF ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I suggest that no body buys from cannon again!!
I am suppose to record my sister-in laws wedding and BOTH of my ELURA 100's are displaying the EJACT TAPE message!

"TEMP. FIX"
This takes pateince however for me it works....When you get the EJECT TAPE mesage....eject the battery with the power on (thus the power will go off by means of the battery not being in camera) then slap the battery back in....and KEEP doing this untill eventually the camera will NOT DISPLAY the message and actual work.

It may take up to 20 trys ....slap it in..slap it out...slap it in slap it out...BUt for me it works.

If it appears to work but as you hit the RECORD button it beeps and displays the EJECT tape message again...Go back and eject the battery again and repeat the STEPS...but dont worry , that means your getting closer to it working.. LOL

P.s- I hate CANON

Condensation Detected ......... Remove the Cassette

People, I got the same problem like 5 minutes ago, but I fixed it. You have to REMOVE the battery while the camera is off, then wait 2 seconds and take it back inside. It works.

But I have an Canon Xm1, so I don`t know if it works for all of you guys, but good luck!!
