Question about Bosch 18V Brute Tough Drill with Blue Core Battery Technology

1 Answer

I have a Bosch 18v Brute Litheon cordless hammer drill and impact. One of the batteries works just fine. The other one will not take a charge. The set is about 6 months old. Apparently it's been this way for almost the start and my crew never let me know. When the battery is put in the charger the green light just stays on and there is a slight click fronm the charger.

You have a bad battery (defective) take the unit back to where you bought it and hopefully they will understand and exchange it out for you. If the dealer won't help you can contat the Bosch company, they typically will do an exchange even if you dont' have the receipt, (a courtesy exchange). You may have to pay to ship the defective battery to them. If you can prove when your purchased the system you will have less difficulty convincing them to give you a new battery. good luck with this, my experience with Bosch has been that they are a customer friendly company and should be willing to help you,as I would hope your dealer would

The motor comes as an assembly for these tools and is not too hard to change (does require soldering) - just be warned though - most of the time with these tools when the motor or switch smokes it damages the battery as well. You may read 18v with no load, but that doesn't mean the battery is good - it needs to be tested under load to determine if it keeps voltage with an amperage draw.
My advice would be to invest in another drill - it would be money better spent in my opinion.

Make sure it is in low gear on drill mode. try with just a bar in the socket and hit the end to shock it. This is sometimes better than a constant force.

Bosch cordless drill not working.

First The model is pretty new. you need to register your tool on line. this takes you from a one year warranty to a three year warranty. They will give you a pro-vantage number. with that said it sounds like a trigger switch. Yhe trigger switch is the brain of your tool. not only does it do your variable speed but it also controlls the brake and your fuel gauge. Because of the cost I highly recomend taking it to your closes Bosch service center.

Chech and see if the top selector is fully engaged, if it is, then you will have to replace the gearbox assembly. Any Bosch service dealer will have this part

18v Litheon drill charger won't charge battery. Green light stays solid even though battery is dead.

It could be the battery or the charger. Best thing to do is find a Bosch service center and have them test them. The litheon stuff is fairly new, there is a good chance it will be on warranty.

Bosch 18volt brute force cordless drill how do i remove chuck

Put the screw back in the chuck, tighten it up then back it out 1 turn. Take a punch, put it in the chuck and give it a quick hit with a hammer. That should do the trick.
