That's got nothing to do with windows 7. You have a problem with that modem. Oh & if you're trying to use windows 7 on a dial-up connection,it's not going to work well. Microsoft pretty much stopped any support for dial-up on the newer operating systems. So if this is your situation,I'd downgrade to xp, vista won't do well either. Now if the modem you refer to is a dsl or cable modem, try "power cycling" it by unplugging it for 30 seconds & plugging it back in. Do this with the pc off until the lights on the modem are normal again. Then plug the pc back in & see if it's ok. If not,call your ISP & talk to tech support. It'll be on thier end.

go to settings>connection profile>add > new profile> name = reliance, access point = smartnet or smartwap and dial no as *99# save and set it as default... please dont forget to vote for me
