If this player is on a computer, then there is a small hole over near the left side that you can push an unbent paper clip into to unlatch the player tray. Gently push the paper clip into it until the tray comes out a small amount, and then pull it with your fingers.

When trying to operate the dvd player it states no read disk when there is a disk in the player

Yes, the DVD player will start with "loading" while it tries to read the disc and figure out what kind of disc it is.

The new-er players will read all sorts of discs, but I have an older one that will only read DVD and MP3 discs.

Any DVD player should be able to load and play an original DVD, but not all will comply if it is a backup copy of your DVD.

If your player refuses to recognize the original DVD, it's time to get rid of it. The cost of repairing it will exceede the cost of a new one.

I bought my dvd player from Malaysia but I am using it in Middle East where I am currently residing. Initially, we are able to play all dvds (which we bought original) but suddenly, it kept popping a...

Are you using WMP or any third party players to play the dvds ?

I suggest you to check if the DVD region code is set to one (US) or not. If not, change it to one.

The region can only be changed five times, before its set permanently.

How do I change my DVD region?

DVD movies are encoded for different world regions, and your DVD-ROM drive must be configured for the appropriate region in order to play the DVD.

If you have DVD-decoder software installed on your computer, you can usually change the DVD region setting in the DVD decoder program. Follow the instructions in the program's Help file for changing the DVD region setting.

If you have a software or a hardware DVD decoder installed on your computer, you can use Device Manager to change the DVD region setting in your DVD-ROM configuration:

1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.

2. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.

3. In the list of devices, double-click DVD/CD-ROM drives, right-click the DVD drive for which you want to change region settings, and then click Properties.

4. On the DVD Region tab, make the desired changes.

You must be logged on as an administrator or be a member of the Administrators group in order to change the DVD region.

Note that the DVD region for most DVD-ROMs can only be changed up to five times, and the number of changes still available is located on the DVD Region tab. If the tab shows that you can only change the setting one more time (Changes remaining = 1), you won't be able to play DVDs that use a DVD region that is different from your last selection. If you run out of opportunities to change the setting (Changes remaining = 0), contact your DVD-ROM's manufacturer to reset this value.

Also install DVD decoder as an issue with codec or DVD decoder could even cause the issue with DVD region code.

Dear Friend,
All DVD / optical media player operates on LASER beam. When you insert media ( disc) it will try to "Sence" media by switching on the LASER beam. Beam will be reflected from the media and give information about its type and size.

moz-screenshot.pngsony_baroda_9.jpg

If there is some dirt ( generally dust) LASER beam will become weak and may not provide enough information to the player so it may not rotate.
What you have to do is switch of the player and unplug it. Clean Lens of the LASER pickup with a swab of fine cotton or use lens cleaner CD.
After some time. Restart the system and you will find working normally.

If there is no result, take the system to good technician.

I hope this is useful to you.

Thank you for visiting FixYa.

How to take protect mode off HT-TZ212 samsung dvd player

The protect mode as it means is the safety cut off due to a possible error or shortin in the DVD.
You must have to identify the fault before we can conclude on the position of the fault.
So start from the power supply chek votages, if the main voltages are present. Remove leads to the DVD drive and check, if OK then the drive section is faulty. But fault can vary from the AV section to the decorder stage and to the drive.
The microprocessor control is however working as it indicates the fault.
So proceed by elimination
