I want to buy a hard disk for my PC. Model of mother board is GIGABYTE 8VM800M. How much size of HDD does it Support.

The specifications for this model Gigabyte moterboard is available from this WEB site.
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=1931#ov

This motherboard supports IDE and SATA hard drives.
There is no size linitations on SATA hard drives and they are a lot faster than IDE hard drives.
I recommend to install a SATA hard drive with a capacity to suit your needs.

I have INTEL D865GBF MOTHER BOARD up to how much capacity of hard disk is supported by this mother board

Hard Disk upto any capacity can be added to Intel D865 Motherboard. It supports both IDE and Sata Chanels for Hard Disk. You may add up to 2 additional Sata drives of 250-500-750GB drives according to you requirements.
For further details, please refer to Intel Official Product Specification

I have 2 questions:- 1. I have a hard disk of 80GB capacity.I want to augment my storage capacity with an additional Hard Disk of 500GB in the second slot of my CPU.Will my motherboard support that.My...

The motherboard has 2 memory slots with each slot allowing up to 1GB modules of DDR PC2700, DDR PC3200, DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 1GB per slot. Do not mix RAM speeds.

As for hard drives, the board has the capacity of:

PATA (Parallel) - 2 x ATA100 4 Dev. Max
SATA 1.5 Gb/s - 2

I would assume that the 500GB drive you have is a SATA drive. and the 80GB as PATA. If that is the case, then the two drives would be on different controllers and would work in the system. Typically, it is recommended that the SATA drives is the main hard drive holding your OS.

As always, you would need an open bay in your computer case as well as adequate power to the PWS to complete the installation.

All new hard discs are SATA supported. hence you can use them. but make sure the capacity could be handled by the processor as the presently available ones are of very high capacity. SATA cable is red in colour and about 2 cm wide

Unlimited. The only limit you could encounter is the 2 GB limit on file size when you are using the FAT file system - like in memory cards.

I want to increase the storage capacity my Hard disk.

hi,

You can use SATA hard disk.

you said you already have 40gb. so, your pentium 4 mother board can work with full performance with upto 80 gb.

My suggestion for you is to get another 40 gb and install it ,so it makes 80 gb as total.

Other option is , There are external hard disks available for reasonable cost. you can go for it.

Your RAM is ok too.

Hope my info helps you.
Bye.
