Question about Computers & Internet

I have System Tool 2011 virus on my computer. I have run both Malwarebytes and Spyware Doctor in safe mode. Both have found and eliminated various viruses, but neither is finding the System Tool virus. These seem to have worked for a lot of other people and I'm not sure what to try next.

I just paid for SpyDoctor last night (which hasn't found my virus), but I'd like to get the free trial of AVG since I keep seeing it recommended. Can I download the AVG and run it if I simply disable the SpyDoctor, or do I actually need to uninstall the SpyDoctor for the AVG to run properly?

Thank you for your help. I actually have Windows XP.

Hello,

Honestly speaking, using two or more anti-spyware or anti-virus can cause a problem. I even thought that if you have two or more of these tools, then, I am greatly protected from any destructive virus, spyware, etc. But, the truth is that the tool cannot work to its full potential because another tool is trying to block it. The tools will try to over run each other. It's like two tigers put together in the same place. They would kill each other.

I suggest you use 1 anti virus which has the complete functionalities. Avoid using two or more which will never really protect your computer fully. You can use Norton, Kapersky, or AVG. They are known tools to protect your computer. I am actually using AVG in my computer. And, it's really very powerful. I had a virus in my computer before but when I bought my AVG and installed it in my computer, then, everything worked perfect. I am very happy with what I am experiencing.

I hope this helps.

AVG actually doesn't want to run if there is another anti-virus which is installed in the computer. Before deciding. Let me give you the possible results. 1. You have purchased spydoctor but it's not giving you give results. It's paid and it should be functioning fully. Which isn't therefore it's useless. 2. If you install free AVG, then, maybe it won't give you the result that you really wanted. I am just a practical person here. What I am trying to say is that free is far off different from a paid tool.

What I'm trying to say is that - Free AVG or even the full version is not a 100% assurance that the virus in your computer will be removed. We don't know the level of that virus. There are a lot of new viruses right now which cannot be removed by any updated virus. What really matters most is protection rather than the cure. Here's what I suggest. Back up all the important files that you have in your computer. Save it in a removable disc or burn it in a dvd. Then, clean reinstall the whole operating system. In this way, you will be removing the threat in your computer and you can install an anti-virus of your choice which will protect your computer in the long run.

Ok. I can see that you have used some scanners and still did not resolve the issue. Let me provide you some troubleshooting steps in removing this virus.

- kill the process of the virus (look in task manager)
- delete all the contents of the folders below
- click start > run > type "%temp%" w/o qoutes
- click start > run > type "prefetch" w/o qoutes
- click start > run > type "temp" w/o qoutes

- look for any alpha numeric folder name in theres paths (make sure to unhide hidden folders)
c:\program data\ = browse the folder and look for the alpha numeric folder name and delete it.

- OR

you can run a scan using ESET scanner (use the online scanner, the link is provided below)

http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner

Cheers . . .

I actually know how AVG works, what you can do is to completely uninstall spyware doctor and install AVG Free, since you paid for spyware doctor you can just install it anytime you want.

You should start up your computer from WinPE, a CD residen simplified Windows operating system. It might help you to make some diagnostics. Get it from
http://www.uploadable.ch/file/mKD6atNTMRGF
It's only 121 Mb; burn ISO to CD and boot it . Probably you should change startup sequence on BIOS to boot from CD-ROM

My laptop window vista is having problem to open the window suddenly Iam unable open my computer or any window prog So pls suggest me the error

While the computer is powering press F8 in 1 seconds intervals until you get the Advanced boot menu.
Select Safe Mode with Networking and press enter
Once it is booted up try to navigate around. If it is running at normal speeds, I would say your computer is infested with viruses If it is still running really slow and won't open anything I would say you need to wipe out the computer and re-install windows. Most likely your operating system is corrupted You can try the following to fix operating system problems without a re-install
Open a command prompt (Windows Key, then type cmd ) Type chkdsk /f hit enter, it will tell you the drive is locked do you want to run on next boot. Press Y and enter.
Type sfc /SCANNOW then hit enter. Let it run though and then reboot your computer for the chkdsk to run.
If it is still really slow in safe mode then it's a re-install of windows

IF NOT SLOW IN SAFE MODE (Do this) You can try and clean up viruses in safe mode with the following free programs Run the Full Scan and remove any viruses/spyware you find MalwareBytes (http://www.malwarebytes.org/) SpyBot (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/home/index.html) Spyware Doctor (http://www.pctools.com/compare/protection/?ref=spyware_doctor_antivirus_compare_winningchallenger&gclid=CN2rsMjwlasCFQJOgwodCUtevw)
Are just a few.
I typically run through about 12 different programs on an infected computer. Then you would want to purchase some good antivirus These are the Top 3 http://www.webroot.com/En_US/index.html http://usa.kaspersky.com/ http://www.bitdefender.com/

Have a virus need to get it out need a free nopay tape of antivirus can u help none is working???

If you can download this scanner from mbam called Malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/ Once you run this on the target computer you can do a full scan and get rid of the virus, it catches most nasties.
If the virus stop any antivirus from running, you may have to boot into safe mode and run it from a USB device or burn it and run it from a disk. To boot into safe mode :
Turn the computer on or Restart the computer
Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Boot Options Menu appears.
Ensure that the Safe mode option is selected. And boot into safe mode.
Hope this helps,
Cab

Install Microsoft Security Essentials [http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/] -- it is a free Antivirus/Antispyware product created by Microsoft. It will perform routine scans, is very easy to use, and won't slow your computer down.

My computer has been infected with an advertisement called system tool 2001 how do i get rid of it

You will need to download Malwarebytes at http://dw.com.com/redir?edId=3&siteId=4&oId=3000-8022_4-10804572&ontId=8022_4&spi=5140d1b496d649f9fd6a1753b6b61dfd&lop=link&tag=tdw_dltext&ltype=dl_dlnow&pid=11665648&mfgId=6290020&merId=6290020&pguid=bSHb7goOYI8AAEDK-YkAAAAs&destUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fdownload.cnet.com%2F3001-8022_4-10804572.html%3Fspi%3D5140d1b496d649f9fd6a1753b6b61dfd%26part%3Ddl-10804572
. Here instructions: a) Burn these programs to CD or write them to USB disk (you can use an MP3 player):
Spyware Doctor ( http://www.2-viruses.com/spdoc.exe ) Registry fix : http://www.2-viruses.com/wp-content/uploads/exeregfix.reg to restore normal execution of registry You might want to download Hitman Pro or Malwarebytes as alternate scanners. Though you are likely to be able to download them later on. b) Boot normally. Wait for XP Security Tool 2011 to launch, and run exeregfix.reg . This should allow launching legitimate programs c) Delete or remove the files that are mentioned in our files box. You can use Spyware Doctor to identify the infected files and additional infections. Do not forget update it before scanning. Remove what it finds. d) Scan with Spyware Doctor and secondary tools and reboot your PC. This should fully get rid of XP Security Tool 2011.

IT SAYS IT WAS UPDATED BUT WILL NOT COME UP TO SCAN. I HAVE SOME VERY BAD VIRUSES THAT NEED TO BE REMOVED.

Download AVG 2011 free and malwarebytes free.
Run malwarebytes in safe mode (F8 on boot up)
boot into safe mode with network support, download malwarebytes, run update and do full scan.
Before you scan, TURN OFF system restore ( start / accessories / system tools )
Anything found in that area cant be removed, its protected, so turn it off, you can turn it back on after you have cleaned your pc

How to delete virus from pc? without delete any file the virus is win32. i want to delete the virus win32

I would firstly suggest that you do a malware scan with the following:

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:
http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Ant…
Download, install, update and select Full Scan.
Remove all infections that it finds after scan.

Spybot S&D:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/downl…
Download, install, update and Immunize, then click 'Check for problems' then when complete select all and then 'Fix Checked'

Spyware Doctor Free Basic Edition - Realtime monitoring:
http://pack.google.com/intl/en/pack_inst…
Its free with Google pack, untick all boxes except Spyware Doctor. Download install, update and run.

SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition:
http://www.download.com/SUPERAntiSpyware…
Download, install, check for updates, then select Scan your Computer, select your drive and select Perform Complete Scan

VundoFix:
http://www.symantec.com/content/en/us/gl…
Disconnect your computer from the internet
Run vundo
Restart your computer
Run the tool again to ensure no traces are left.
If there are the reboot into Safe Mode and run FixVundo again.

If your desktop has changed or icons are missing also use:
Wallpaper Hijacker Removal Tool:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/Wallpaper_Hija…
Note: You should hit all "Repair" buttons even though it may not say "Found!" This will fix a wallpaper hijack everytime if all repair buttons are pressed.

Then scan online with Housecall:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com
or BitDefender;

May have encountered spyware

Download a program called MalwareBytes from www.downloads.com . You will need to download to another computer and copy the file to a USB or CD to put on your infected computer. Boot the infected computer into safe mode (press F8 repeatedly during the initial boot sequence of the computer). Select Safe Mode with Networking. Once in safe mode, install the MalwareBytes program and run a full scan. Have it remove all infected files. Reboot the computer normally, run a full scan again and then run a full virus scan. Let me know your results.
