The f9 error code means the electronic control has found the lock motor switches to be out of sequence or shorted. you would have to perform a continuity test on the switches using a multimeter to assure that the switch is not burned out or that you do not need a new door lock assembly you would find these switches behind the rear panel of your oven. if the switches test that they are working properly you would replace the electronic control if you have any further questions message me back And please remember when our chat is fully concluded to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to help others in similar situations in the future Thanks Rick

also wait till the unit cools to see if this changes the door lock situation the f9 is most likely that you need a new door lock assembly if you need to get the door open go to the back panel unplug the machine and remove the rear panel you will see the door lock assembly usually if you spin the motor in one direction you can get the unit to unlock wait till the unit is cool to try this Thanks again for using fixya

it never heated up due to the door lock assembly not seating the lock into the full locked postion have you removed the rear panel of the machine? I have also seen others use a wire and pull the lock open i would not suggest this this sometimes causes more damage to the unit

by spining that motor to make the latch retract is the way you would trick the unit until you are able to buy the new door lock assembly

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

After reading your question the problem seems to be with the control which got locked. To unlock the controls press and hold the STOP/OVEN LOCK button for 20 seconds. If the problem returns then check the door and make sure it is fine, after this you can unplug the unit for 15 minutes and then try to reset it again. F9 error is a door lock circuit failure error code, after this if the problem remains then replacing the door lock-latch assembly is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

How do you keep the door locked so you can use t self cleaning feature

Good Morning Friend,

I understand you want to know how to keep the door locked on your Frigidaire oven, model# FEB24S2AS, so you can use the self-clean feature. The "Door Locked" light will flash until the door locks when the self-clean cycle is in use. It glows constantly after the door locks. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

How does the self-clean feature work on a Frigidaire CFEF366EMB model?

Hi Beverly,

I understand that you are looking to run your self-clean feature on your Frigidaire range, model# CFEF366EMB.

-To start this you will remove all racks and make sure that any excessive spillovers are cleaned up as best as you can.
-Next you will press the "Clean" button, and the display will show "---".
-Press the up or down arrows to select the length of time you want the oven to clean. Usually 2 or 3 hours.
-The door will automatically lock once your time has been chosen and the "LOCK" indicator light will flash. DO NOT open the door while the light is flashing. (it takes about 15 seconds for the oven door to lock).
-"Cln" will appear in the display during the self-clean cycle and the "LOCK" light will continue to glow until the self-cleaning cycle is complete or cancelled and the oven has cooled.

When the self-clean cycle has completed:
-The time of day or "END" will appear in the display window and the "Clean" and "LOCK" light will continue to glow.
-Once the oven has cooled down for about 1 HOUR and the "LOCK" light has gone out, the oven door can be opened.
-If "END" is in the display and the Clean indicator light remains ON, press the "CLEAR/OFF" button and the time of day will appear on the display.
-When the oven is cool, wipe away any residue or powdered ash with a damp cloth or paper towel.

-Best Regards-

Lock light on frigdaire self cleaning oven

OK, this is not a good situation here. your Electronic Oven Control board is damaged. the logic sectors are faulty. The F-1 represents a major EOC failuer and, you will need to replace your EOC(clock) asap, if possible.

My self cleaning oven door will not open, and keeps beeping and

The F9 code indicates there is a problem with the door lock.

Try disconnecting the power to the range for 10 seconds and reconnecting. Open the oven door and hold the door switch plunger in while you try these things. Put the control into clean for 5 minutes then cancel clean. You must hold the door switch plunger in for the 5 minutes.

Try canceling the clean cycle without putting the control into clean.

Oven door will not lock to clean

hi, these two codes together are signaling a EOC failure. the electronic oven control has failed and you will need to replace the EOC/clock. it is unable to initiate any commands because, it in a frozen state.

You can try to reset this control by unplugging the entire unit for 5 minutes. if the control continues to not reaspond to your commands, replace the EOC.

please rate and god bless:)

Door locked after cancelling self clean option

Open the door. In the upper left corner, press and hold the door switch (the one that controls the inside light). Start a self clean cycle and wait for lock motor to engage. When the lock stops moving it should be in the unlocked position. Press cancel to stop the self clean.

If you need more assistance let me know.
Good luck!
