SOURCE: my email shuts off

be careful about putting you email up. bad people "harvest" them... anyways, look to see if your firewall or antivirus system is blocking some types of file transfer. i suggest contacting your internet provider as the settings on you computer will need to be altered and they can run you through it. also i suggest you use: Firefox when yiou have installed it do this: > tools > options > advanced > network and clear cache. now try your email again and if it works normally reset your password to a new one, longer than 6 digits with a number in it as well, just cause normal words or names can be broken easily. http://en-us.www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/2.0.0.7 this is the site to download firefox from, good luck.

I can't access my account and I have fantasy draft in twoo hours that is going to cost please help!

Good Day Jhgjr2!

You should try to sign in on Yahoo Mail using a different internet browser.

From my experience, I am using Internet explorer as my internet browser, there are times it will not let me sign in at Yahoo Mail even though my user id and password was type correctly.

I usually open Mozilla Firefox and try to sign in there whenever Internet Explorer will have problems signing me in to Yahoo.

It is also recommended to clear the caches, remove cookies and delete everything on your browsing history. You can do this on the TOOLS menu of your Internet browser.

If despite changing internet browser and you still you can not sign in, maybe it is time for you to
Go to : https://edit.yahoo.com/forgot?stage=fe100&src=ym&intl=us&done=http://mail.yahoo.com&partner=
Follow the on screen procedure, be ready with your user id and secret answers to your secret questions. It will verify your identity, at the end it will reset your password
and gain access to your account.

Let me know if I can help you further. Just leave a comment.
Thanks

Yahoo mail isn't working properly. I can't delete any of my messages, even my spam folder. It won't even allow me to click on the help or options link. I had to go through the search bar to...

Good Day Kimba!

If Yahoo Mail is not working properly, the problem is with your internet browser. It is a sign that you have a weak internet browser.

Uninstall your internet browser , then, download a new version and install.

If you are using Internet Explorer, upgrade to a newer version.

If you are using Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, uninstall it and download the latest version.

After that, try to sign in on your Yahoo mail account and you will find all function buttons are working fine.

Let me know if I can help you further.

I have Yahoo mail but when I go to craigs list to try to mail people outlook express comes up and I can't email back. Do you folks have instructions on what to do to get it to answer in yahoo mail?

When Outlook Express starts, highlight the E-mail ID that is in the 'TO:' field, and "copy" the text to the Windows Clipboard.

Then, open another browser-window (or tab), and login to your Yahoo! E-mail, and "compose" a new message, and "paste" from the Windows Clipboard into the 'TO:' field.

When I try to sign onto my yahoo mail i get a message that internet explorer can not open this page yet when I try to analyze the problem it gives me a popup that says there are no connection problems

I don't know why the problem of not being able to log into Yahoo email accounts exists, but you're not alone. If you know that the problem is not you entering an incorrect user name or password, there is a work-around to get into Yahoo mail. And, it takes less than 5 minutes to set it all up.

Every time I've recommended this solution to someone for their Yahoo Mail problem, it's worked.

The easiest way to sign into your Yahoo email account is to use Firefox as your browser and download the Webmail notifier add-on for Firefox.

With the click of a mouse, you'll be sent directly to your Yahoo email page without having to manually sign in to Yahoo.

Click here for Firefox download: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4490

To add Webmail Notifier it to your Firefox toolbar click here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4490

1) After downloading and re-starting Firefox, right click in an empty area on your TOP toolbar in Firefox and select, 'Customize.' (A window with icons will open.)

2) Locate and drag the envelope icon to your upper toolbar and click, 'Done'.

3) Once the envelope is seated on the toolbar, right click on the envelope icon and choose, 'Options'. (A window will open.)

4) Select, Yahoo from the drop down menu.

5) Type in your full email address in the 'User Name' box.

6) Type in your Yahoo mail password in the password box.

7) Click, Add

8) Make sure 'Enable Login' is checked that the bottom.

9) Click, > OK.

Now, when you want to go to your Yahoo email just click on the little envelope icon and you'll be sent straight to your email page in Yahoo.

- I forgot to add, the envelope will be gray when you don't have any unread emails, but turns yellow when you do.

If you found this information helpful, please give me a big thumbs-up when you rate my answer. Thanks!

I have to sign in every time I check my mail. I check my mail at least four times a day. rosalee_boddy2000@yahoo.com

This could be due to a few issues.

One on your internet explorer options, you may have it set to delete cookies everytime it closes.

Two, you may not be checking the box that says keep me signed in for two weeks when you sign into yahoo mail.

If you are checking the box, then it is definetly the cookies setting on internet explorer. Go into the tools menu, internet options, and change it to where it doesnt delete settings and temporary cookies when you close internet explorer.

Also, when you are done checking your yahoo mail, do not click on sign out, or that will cause you to sign in everytime, and one final note.

After you are done using internet explorer to check you yahoo mail, dont close the internet explorer page, just type in maybe google.com or something of the sort. And leave the internet explorer window open.

( you can minimize it if you like)

Thank you for using Fixya, and please rate my solution!

HOW DO YOU MAKE YAHOO EMAIL THE DEFAULT IN TOOLS INTERNET OPTIONS?

To make the Yahoo! as default E-Mail client:

1. First download and install the Yahoo Toolbar in the Computer.

2. Then, click on Start and select the option "Control Panel".

3. In the Control Panel, select the option “Internet Options”. This opens the “Internet Properties” window.

4. Click the “Programs” tab along the top.

5. Click the “E-mail” pull-down menu, and select Yahoo! Mail.

6. Then click on Apply and then OK.

NOTE: Yahoo! Toolbar v.7.2 and above for Internet Explorer (not Firefox) is the download that adds Yahoo! Mail to your Computer's list of email programs to choose from. But after you've chosen Yahoo! Mail as your Computer's default email application, Yahoo! Mail will open when you click an email link in any browser.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

Replying to a link given in Craigslist

The tiny program that allows you to select Yahoo! Mail as the default email application for your PC is included as part of Yahoo! Toolbar version 7.2 and up for Internet Explorer (not Firefox).
If you don't have Yahoo! Toolbar v.7.2 or later for Internet Explorer installed, you’ll need to download it before proceeding with these instructions.
We’re sorry there’s not an official version for the Mac—yet.
Here’s how to set your PC to open Yahoo! Mail when you click an email link on a web page.
  1. From the “Start” pop-up menu in the lower left corner of your desktop, select “Settings” > “Control Panel”.
  2. In the Control Panel, select “Internet Options”. This opens the “Internet Properties” window.
  3. Click the “Programs” tab along the top.
  4. Click the “E-mail” pull-down menu, and select Yahoo! Mail.
  5. Click OK. Done!
Note: Yahoo! Toolbar v.7.2 and above for Internet Explorer (not Firefox) is the download that adds Yahoo! Mail to your PC's list of email programs to choose from. But after you've chosen Yahoo! Mail as your PC's default email application, Yahoo! Mail will open when you click an email link in any browser.
