The line could be caused by a scratched DRUM unit or a contaminated trasfer roller... And the shadow is probably a broken MICA ROLLER in the FUSER,

To get rid of the line (if the drum is OK) you need a mantenance KIT for that model, (pickup roller, transfer roller, separating pads etc...), for the shadow you need a new FUSER

Cheers!

Broad dark line on right edge of copied papers

If you have the black line on copies and scans but printing from P.C is fine, then your scanner is broken.

Contact your printer manufacturer for a replacement or repair.

My Ricoh Aficio CL2000N is printing several faint lines

Couple possibilities:
Fuser hot belt has wear lines transfering to the page
Black pcu needs to be replaced
Transfer unit is not being cleaned properly and needs to be replaced.
Remove each of these assy and inspect them for wear or lines that corespond to the lines on your prints.

White stripe in print-outs

This is a common problem with this printer. Each toner color has it's own roller. The tin blade on the inside edge of the roler gets plasticy buildup and needs to be cleaned.

Pull out the entire toner roller assembly for the color that is problmatic. Unscrew the tin blade from the roller assembly. Clean the inside edge of this blade (the part that scrapes on the roller) completely. NOTE: After cleaning mine with toilet paper & water I ran my fingernail along the edge to find that the waxy buildup was still there. I gently took my fingernail and scraped at it until it felt smooth -- no burrs.

NOTE: The edge of this blade is very sharp! Be careful. Don't run your finger along the edge.

Reinsall the tin plate maing sure that the foam sweeps (on the right and left of the blade) are not stuck under the tin blade. (If you do, it will dump large amounts of toner on your pages. Very messy).

Give her a whirl.

Alignment amiss and excess ink

  1. Make sure that the printer is idle and the Ready light is on.
  2. Load the media in the input tray.
  3. Print a cleaning page. Access the printer properties (or printing preferences in Windows 2000 and XP).

NOTE: The cleaning process takes approximately 3 minutes. The cleaning page will stop periodically during the cleaning process. Do not turn the printer off until the cleaning process has finished. You might need to repeat the cleaning process several times to thoroughly clean the printer.
If this doesn't help, let me know and I will further investigate.

Lines along edge of paper

1 of 3 things I can think of off top of my head.
Since they are straight, I would suspect the transfer unit.
If it were just one color it would be that imaging unit.
Unlikely the fuser.
It doesn't sound line an issue called bar coding ,where the machine prints random lines. That would be a software issue.
Take the transfer unit out and inspect it for the marks.
I am assuming the streaks are on all colors correct?
If it isn't on the transfer belt, and on all colors check the fuser and see if its latched.
