JVC GZ-MG360Bu won't playback or download data to my Mac Book

I plugged my USB from the Camcorder to my Mac Book. My computer recognizes the device, and attempts to download, but it doesn't show any events on my camcorder, when I clearly have videos on the camcorder. I even push direct backup to no avail

I have the same problem. My mac will open the directions from the software, but can't open the video support part. Where can I go for software to recognize this camcorder?

The solution this person has delivered is incorrect. I have just baught a JVD GX-MG330 and similarly put in the CD that came with it, the disk was mearly a guidebook like that of the one inside the box. There was no installation CD for any type of software to be found. When I plugged in the actual camcorder I found that I could access the movies but the format was one that I couldnt playback the files nor could I put them in any way onto iMovie.
Could anyone suggest a programme or something I could install to make this work or should I just ask at the store I purchased the camera from?

Have you installed the jvc drive software from the disc ok, it finds mine and downloads it all into folders. As soon as you plug in the device the software should auto open.

It is going to be a software or firmware problem. If you go to the JVC site you should be able to find a download to fix or patch the problem.

I need mac software for my jvc everio gz-mg360bu camera.

There is a chance that you will be able to get back some or all of your digital videos from your JVC camcorder based on your Macintosh.

First things first: DO NOT take any more videos with the memory card or stick that you want to recover videos from in case you may quite possibly ruin your chances of video recovery.

Quick Internet searches will reveal a tremendous number of Mac recovery programs. Here are some for your reference(there is no freeware I suppose)

Data Recovery (from Mac Update)

Caution - Do NOT try & write anything back to the memory card of stick until you can recover your videos safely!

Share: How to import .tod files from JVC Everio HDD Camcorder to iMovie?

Requirements: iMovie (Part of the iLife 08 package)

Step 1: Connect the Everio to the Mac (Via USB)
Make sure you are powering the Everio from the mains before connecting your JVC Everio Camcorder.

Step 2: Playback on PC
Select “Playback on PC” on the Everio, once connected you will see the Everio HDD symbol appear on the desktop. The video files on the Everio are stored in the SD Folder/PRG***/MOV***.MOD.

Step 3: Open iMovie
Once you open iMovie, you will see that it recognizes the Everio straight away and will attempt to import your video.

You are now ready to use iMovie to edit your video files.

If need change .tod files to common video formats like mov, mp4, m4v, mpg, mpeg, dv, flv, avi, wmv, 3gp, mkv, mp3, aac, wma, m4a, etc. Mod Tod Video Converter for Mac is a good choice. The program can also convert mod tod to ipod, mod tod to iphone, tod to apple tv, tod to blackberry and more devices!
