Question about Samsung SCH-u540 Cellular Phone

1 Answer

Loose lcd I got my new phone less than a month ago and I noticed when the phone is closed the LCD piece wobbles back and forth just a little. Is there supposed to be some 'play'? I didn't notice it at first. It doesn't wobble when the phone is open. I noticed my old Samsung started doing that right before it broke and I'd had it 2 1/2 years. Thanks! I'm technologically challenged! It is a Samsung SCH-u550, not a 540

1998 voyager front tires wobble back and forth when jacked up. Is it tie rod or ball bearing?

If it wobbles with your hands at 9 and 3, its a tie rod end.
If it wobbles with your hands at 12 and 6, its a wheel bearing.

Loose Monitor on a HP Pavilion ZV6233nr Laptop

It seems that some screw that was loose is now totally out of socket. The latch assembly might be disbalanced due to that. To me it doesn't seem to be a broken latch.

Fan & shrould Broke off the water pump

I believe that the part your'e talking about is the clutch for the fan. It is a two piece unit, factory assembled. likely the bearing inside failed and caused this. You can change the fan and clutch unit, inspect everything for damage from the fan becoming disconnected and be OK, however running and wobbling may have caused some bearing damage in the pump...keep an eye on it...any noises or leaks from there, change it.

Bubble-like spots on lcd

Your Licquid Crystal Display appears to have gone bad... much like a dead pixel in a TV, you get a dead spot on the display of your lcd that looks like a bubbe.

You need to have the screen replaced or you will have to live with the bubbles. If the PC is still under warranty I'd send it in for repair. You may be able to pick up an inexpensive replacement on eBay, but make sure you are careful if you replace the screen yourself.

Screen loose

Open your laptop case(Not LCD case) & see the mechanical portion is damaged. IF possible change this parts by byeing secondhand parts from scrap area/ put some synthetic(Do not use petrolium gum) gum & plastic & finish it properly. I think IF you can make it properly it could solve your problem.

Nothing on screen

ltd1991 - take the phone to either a mobile tech or mobile service center close to you and have them replaced either you flexcable or LCD screen.

mk_rodgers74 - you need to have the ear-piece replaced but you will also have to get the lcd change at the same time seeing that the lcd and ear-piece are both connected to the board or they meaning the mobile tech or mobile service center could unsolder the old ear-piece and resolder the new one back to the lcd board.

No dispaly on screen.

Three possibilities. 1) The LCD screen is cracked from a fall or hit etc.. It can be visible or a small crack hidden on and edge or corner, only visible after taking out the display. 2) The phone was exposed to moisture or high humidity long enough for corrosion to start. This could have happened many months ago. The corrosion has finally effected the LCD. If you're up to disassembling the phone you can clean the LCD connector with rubbing alcohol and a tooth brush as well as clean the LCD cable itself with a pencil eraser. Typically the LCD is held in with a little 2-color connector that you open with a tiny screwdriver or other tool by carefully prying off each side of the connector a little bit. (1-2mm) when you are done just slide the lcd connector in all the way and push the connector back in. 3) It's unlikely but the LCD can just stop working. It's not worth paying $30 to $50 for a new one. Just replace the phone.

Fell too many times

HI Mary As you know that most small cell phone case was made by plastic. Therefore, if you has droppd so many time, the impact causes most damage to the hinges and connector and if you love your phone then you can purchase the OEM housing on Ebay and have someone to replace it. The OEM LCD ribbon is always paired with the main LCD so if you purchase this cable, you should have the LCD as well. However, since you dropped the phone too much, it is not worth to fix if you don't know how. I can fix the phone and can replace anything in it but I still prefer to get the new one since even I know how to fix, parts and time to spend is already cost more than the new phone ususally cheap today if you need to use as a communication tool not entertainment tool or work one like PDA, Smartphone. Phone has too many time dropping will not work well one day and can die anytime. so buy a new one and keep this as replacement part. good Luck. Regards, Jospeh
