Question about Samsung SCH-u540 Cellular Phone

1 Answer

Loose lcd I got my new phone less than a month ago and I noticed when the phone is closed the LCD piece wobbles back and forth just a little. Is there supposed to be some 'play'? I didn't notice it at first. It doesn't wobble when the phone is open. I noticed my old Samsung started doing that right before it broke and I'd had it 2 1/2 years. Thanks! I'm technologically challenged! It is a Samsung SCH-u550, not a 540

My EnV Touchs screen is completely black, the phone still works, i can call out and recieve calls, its just difficult when you cant see anything. My phone did this about a month ago so i just sat it down,...

There must be a loose connection somewhere or your LCD panel is faulty. My personal suggestion is to take it to an authorised service center and get it checked. Faulty servicing or repairing can damage the LCD because ot is very sensitive.

My display doesn't work! I bought the phone for about a month ago and I just went back from a rainy day and the display just went white? What should I do?

I think there is some moisture between the LCD screen of your phone and the flex cable, which is hindering the transmission of images on the screen.

The solution to the problem goes thus';

1.Remove the back cover of the phone and take out the battery.

2.With the help of a credit card, running it though the edges of the phone, take out the top back panel of the phone.

3.Using a hand dryer, dry out all the panel of the phone, but ensure you don't take the dryer to close to the panel.

4.If the problem persists after this solution,it means the LCD screen is bad and definitely needs a replacement.

Good day.

I have a problem on my cellphone not work on LCD or when fliptop open not work what will i do?

Will have to be replaced. There is a sensor/lever that switched LCD's back and forth when the phone is opened/closed. Not sure if the cell phone stores have then separately, you may be able to buy a used phone like yours with good LCD for a few bucks but if not the cell phone stores charge a bundle to replace parts unless you have the warranty on your phone.

Screen goes white all the time

There might be a problem with the LCD of the phone, you need to have it checked with a technician. I'm not sure if the phone got damaged due to direct heat of sun light. The phone's LCD is also sensitive and can only take mild heat. Might as well take it to a local techinician and have them evaluate the phone's LCD for you.

My blackberry pearl flip got wet

Sorry to tell you but the back light on your blackberry pearl probably burnt out. That is one of the most common issues with a wet phone.

You can find blackberry flip 8230 and 8230 LCD screen replacements on ebay. Took a while but they are available now.

They are a little tricky to replace but not to hard.

Checkout the guide I wrote for replacing the blackberry flip LCD displayscreen. There are also links to by the new pearl flip LCD screens2.gif

Nokia n95 8gb lcd is blank but i hear it's turning on

if its blank you have to replace the lcd screen with a new one.
sometimes it maybe a flex cable problem which occurs in some slide phones.

at mobile phone repair stores, the cost of an original lcd screen replacement is usually $150-$200, though sometimes an original lcd screen may not be fitted into your device but rather a hong-kong made one which is similar to the original but is less brighter and a little less sharper.

if you take it to a nokia care centre to replace the lcd screen you may have to pay over $250.

you can just buy an lcd screen off ebay, replacing the lcd screen yourself isnt hard with the tools provided. you just have to take the ribbon cable from the old lcd screen and insert the new lcd screen and plug in the ribbon cable for it.

the reason for original Nokia n95 8Gb lcd screens being so expensive to repair/replace is that it is also the same lcd screen used for the Nokia N96.

I have an LG CU515 LCD screen/disasemble

I to had that exact same problem. Somehow I had managed to crack my lcd screen. I almost pitched it out to begin with because I saw some repair places that wanted 99.00 for a replacement screen. I don't think I paid that much for the phone when it was new. Anyway I found the lcd screen on a very popular web site and it cost me 15.00 that included two small tools to help with the repair. A screwdriver and a Pry tool. And shipping was included. I figured that was worth a chance of fixing the phone. I may just have had "dumb beginner's luck" but I was able to do the repair and my phone now works like a charm. The phone itself has two small screws under the decorative plastic cover at the top of the opended flip phone. (just above the chrome piece above the LG logo. Just gently pry that loose and you will see the small screws.
At the bottom of that same area you will see 2 round dots one in each corner. Once again gently pry them up with a very small tipped tool. Mine popped off very easily. That is the four screws that hold the cover over the lcd screen. You will once again have to gently pry the cover off after the screws are removed. It sort of snaps into place to secure the cover over the lcd screen. After you pop the cover off you are ready to remove the screen. The speaker is attached via two small wires at the top of the lcd screen. I took my soldering gun and removed the two wires (my phone were red and blue wires) but that is the only soldered wires to deal with. At the bottom right hand side of the lcd was a connection, I guess one might even call it a plug. Just lift up on it a little and remove the broken screen. then slip the new screen into place. Make sure you reseat the small plug at the bottom and very gently without applying to much heat attache the speaker to the two small wires we talked about earlier at the top of the screen. Oh yeah, the screen comes shipped with protective plastic covering over both screens the plast needs to be removed prior to inserting into place as you begin working with the new screen. Anyway then all you have to do is put the cover back on, gently snap in in place, then put the four screws back in and replace the decorative covers. and you should now be back in business. It took me about 10 minutes and like I said earlier cost me 15.00. I hope this helps someone. I'm not a great writer but I did find this task very easy and extremely cost effective.

Nothing on screen

ltd1991 - take the phone to either a mobile tech or mobile service center close to you and have them replaced either you flexcable or LCD screen.

mk_rodgers74 - you need to have the ear-piece replaced but you will also have to get the lcd change at the same time seeing that the lcd and ear-piece are both connected to the board or they meaning the mobile tech or mobile service center could unsolder the old ear-piece and resolder the new one back to the lcd board.

Fell too many times

HI Mary As you know that most small cell phone case was made by plastic. Therefore, if you has droppd so many time, the impact causes most damage to the hinges and connector and if you love your phone then you can purchase the OEM housing on Ebay and have someone to replace it. The OEM LCD ribbon is always paired with the main LCD so if you purchase this cable, you should have the LCD as well. However, since you dropped the phone too much, it is not worth to fix if you don't know how. I can fix the phone and can replace anything in it but I still prefer to get the new one since even I know how to fix, parts and time to spend is already cost more than the new phone ususally cheap today if you need to use as a communication tool not entertainment tool or work one like PDA, Smartphone. Phone has too many time dropping will not work well one day and can die anytime. so buy a new one and keep this as replacement part. good Luck. Regards, Jospeh
