Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections at the speaker as a root cause for intermittent shutdown.

How to put my Panasonic sb-wa733 on aux

The Panasonic SB-WA733 is an active subwoofer that was originally sold with the SC-HT733 Home Theater system. There is no AUX input on the SC-HT733. (The manual for the SC-HT733 available online covers three models. Only one, the SC-HT930, has an AUX input.) With the original remote for the SC-HT930, the remote has a TV/Video Aux button. The SC-HT930's Input selector button (to the right of the power button) will add an Aux option when you cycle through all of the available inputs. I found the manual for the SC-HT733 at Manage My Life here: http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/lis_pdf/OWNM/L0532709.pdf .

Which home theater system do you have? Check the input to which you have connected the audio cable; set the unit to that Input to hear your music.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the model number for the center part of your audio system for further assistance.

I own a PANASONIC sc-ht930 system how ever i have an error message appearing on the converter and it turns off on less than 2 seconds do you know what this means??

If you are using a converter because you have a european unit in the US or vice versa, then the converter can not handle the current draw and may not be large enough to run this unit. This is a common problem with small converters. If not, then please indicate what converter is showing the problem as the unit itself (sc-ht930) does not have a converter.

Thanks,
Dan

My parents are getting rid of their Panasonic SC-HT700. The receiver is shot. The speakers and sub work perfectly fine. I was wondering if I could purchase a used receiver (found the SC-HT930 on ebay) to...

the speakers are 6 ohms, and it will be very difficult to find a receiver that is 6 ohm compatible. most home amps are 8 ohm, and will overheat and burn up when used with 6 ohm speakers.

the subowoofer is 4 ohms, but i am unsure as to whether it is self-powered, or if it is powered by the receiver.

4 ohms is the standard for car audio, and 8 ohms for home audio.

Fornt speakers does not have any sound.

remove the front speakers cables from the rear-remove surround speaker cables from the rear and put them in the place of front speaker-run a music if you get good sound the problem in your front speakers(speaker or its cable)-if you got nothing you will have a problem in your system itself and need to fix in service center.
