Question about Ovens
First try disconnecting power for five minutes, disconnect power cord or trip the circuit breaker. That will reset the electronics.
If this does not work, that means that the high temperatures generated in the self cleaning cycle may have damaged some of the internal parts.
A common failure is a damaged temperature probe. The self cleaning cycle can damage the sensor probe or its wiring.
The result is broiling and baking not heating up.
The temperature sensor is located inside the oven cavity, and held by one or two screws. The sensor can be tested reading Ohms at its terminal with a multimeter. A bad sensor is often open at room temp (it reads infinite Ohms). A good sensor will read about 1KOhms at room.
Depending on the oven model the door lock may also prevent the oven from starting.
If the above is OK, the contacts to timer board, and wiring harness to temperature sensor and heating group must be tested. If wiring is OK, the next in line is the timer board itself.
First try resetting and test temperature probe and heating assembly (if oven is electric check elements, if gas check ignitors and coils, burner and flame switch rarely give troubles).
Here you find parts and diagrams for most units. Enter the full model number as printed in the service tag.
