I need to change the date

Changing the date for the FT500WVB watch is easy. Just pull out the stem of the watch to its first stop. Then turn the stem counter clockwise a couple of twists and the displayed date will increment (that is increase) by one day and you will hear a little click. Keep twisting the stem counterclockwise and the date will increase by one each time with a little click. Stop when you reach the correct date and push the stem back in to its fully seated rest position. Note- be careful not to change the date when the watch displays a time between 9pm and 1 am as setting the date in this time range may cause the watch to increment the date at noon rather than midnight.

Note also that if you want to set the time you just pull out the stem to its second stop position and twist the stem to advance the position of the hands of the watch. Then when the time is set, push the stem back in to its lowest rest position. So remember- first stem stop sets the date and second stem stop sets the time. That's it.

HOW TO SET DAY / DATE ON AN ANALOG (STEM) WATCH

mcdevito75 here, Over Forty (40) years ago, watch manufactures added, to some of their ANALOG (wind up) and almost all of their DIGITAL (button display) watches the FEATURE of the, MONTH or DAY of the WEEK and the DATE, not only was the time of day available but also the DATE which you no longer had to go searching for, it was readily available on your wrist. The PROBLEM came with SETTING the CORRECT MONTH or DAY of the week and the DATE as some MONTHS HAD 31 DAYS rather than 30 DAYS, this meant you had to CYCLE your watch at least 62 times to get to the CORRECT DATE and mant times, when you finally did reach the CORRECT DATE, the day of the week was off, meaning more CYCLES thru the 24 hours.-------- HERE is the EASY way to SET the MONTH or DAY / DATE on your QUARTZ / MECHANICAL (STEM) watch without haveing to go thru the 24 hour cycle so many, many times. Not only is this, WEAR on your fingers, you can also damage your watch with some many cycles of the 24 hours to SET the correct MONTH or DAY / DATE. ------ HERE ARE THE BASICS,---------- Your ANALOG or STEM watch either QUARTZ or MECHANICAL should have a TWO (2) position STEM we are only familiar with the ONE (1) position we use to set the TIME, there should be TWO (2) positions to the STEM. First pull out the STEM to adjust the MONTH or DAY depending on your watches display, if your watch DISPLAYs the DAY of the week, set the DAY to one (1) DAY before the DAY you want, don"t worry about the DATE (number) yet. Once you have the MONTH or DAY set, push the STEM back into the watch, NOW with a finger nail just under the STEM (usually from the back of the stem as there is more room) gently lift the STEM to it"s first position, It may take some practice so be patient, once the STEM is in it"s first position you should be able to turn the STEM to adjust the DATE (number), if so Adust the DATE (number) to ONE (1) DATE before the DATE you want, This way your watch will be adjusted to change the DAY / DATE at the correct time. Once you have the DATE (number) adjusted to ONE (1) DATE before the DATE you want, push the STEM back into the watch, NOW pull the STEM out to adjust the time, go thru the 24 hour cycle to adjust to the correct DAY DATE (number) and time of day.------------ Your QUARTZ or MECHANICAL (stem) watch is now adjusted to the correct DAY / DATE and will change at the correct hour which is generally 12--1 AM.

How can I change the day on the watch (timex model T2E581). I am able to change the date and time ok, but not the day. Thanks for the help.

When you pull the stem out all the way (two clicks) it should set the time. Pulling the stem out one click you noticed sets the date, you turn it one way for the date and in the same postion you turn it the other way for the day. For some reason on some watches the day will stick, if that still happens you will need to turn the hands around and around until you get to the right day, then keeping in mind the 12 hour interval you are in... set the date and time. If the day still does not change then you need to return the watch if its new or send it to timex! Caution: when sending a watch to Timex sometimes they send back a different watch without asking so if its sentimental do NOT send it to Timex!! Hope this helps! have a great day!

I need to change the date on my watch and don't have the instruction manual. Thanks!

mcdevito75 here, Sounds like you have the time set, but the date is a fifferent matter, Here"s what to do, the stem (winder) of your watch has 2 positions, slip a fingernail just under the stem, and gently lift the stem to it;'s first position, this position allows you to change the date without so many cycles of the entire watch, it"s a little tricky but you"ll get used to it. Once you get this first position set the date to 1 day before the date you want, now pull the stem out to set the time of day, go thru 1, 24 hour cycle to set the date you want and time of day. The date is now set and will change on time, approx. Mid nite. Hope this helps.

How can i change date on my watch

mcdevito75 here, If your Timex has a Stem (winder) do this, Slip a fingernail just under the stem and gently lift the crown just a bit, the stem has 2 positions, it may take practice so be patient, once the crown is in it"s first position you"ll be able to change the DATE, set the date 1 date before the date you want so that the date will change on time at about Midnite. Now with the date 1 date before the date you want, push the crown back in and pull the crown out to set the hands, go thru the 24 hour cycle once till you reach the date you want, set also the time of day and your done. Hope this helps.

Fix date n month on wrist watch

mcdevito75 here The stem has 2 positions, we all know the 1 to pull the stem out and set the time, day, date. try this, first go thru the watches 24 hour cycle to get the month you need, now slip a fingernail just under the stem (crown) and gently lift to it"s first position, it may take a few times to get used to, when you have it turn the crown (stem) to change the date easily, change the date to 1 date before the date you want, now go thru the watches 24 hour cycle to get to the date you need. Now the watch is set and will change on time at around mid--nite.

I cannot set the calendar for this watch...can anyone help me?

mcdevito75 here, Your watch (Timex) may have a 2 position stem. Push the stem (winder) all the way in, NOW just lift the stem a little to it:s first position, this should allow the date, (number ) to change, change that number to the date before the date you want, NOW pull the stem out to set the hands, rotate the hands to set proper date and time.

I have an older expedition indiglo timex. Is thereb a shortcut for setting date? Watch has only one stem with only one setting for time

Your watch sounds like a mechanical type (old).

Older watches rely on the hour hand passing 12 to re-set the date.

Wind your watch until the date changes and then turn the hands backwards passed 12 and then forwards again to advance the date again. How far you need to wind it passed 12 (in both directions) is something that you will have to find out by experiment.

Have patience!
