Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer

The boot gasket on my duet washer has separated from the drum. The problem was caused when my wife attempted to clean a set of rugs. I am sure I can figure out how to replace the gasket but is it worth it?

My duet washer is leaking beacuse the seal is not aligned right, the metal ring that holds the seal in keeps popping ou..any advice?

Carefully pull the nozzle from the window washer tube. Separate the plastic gasket ring from the nozzle. Insert the nozzle through the hole in the boot and slide the plastic gasket ring down the shaft of the nozzle so that the boot is securely trapped between the gasket ring and the nozzle ridge. Insert the nozzle shaft into the window washer inlet tube and insert the end of the water inlet tube into the boot. Fit the boot around the front lip of the tub so it rests smoothly and evenly. Fit the boot clamp around the front lip of the tub and tighten the screw. Be careful not to over tighten this screw. Damage to the boot clamp or the boot could occur.

Bad smell when starting a new load the next day

These are some good tips. However, leaving the door open between loads decreases odor by drying out the residue which can make the residue difficult to remove. Also, the residue will affect the next wash load.

The only way to have a truly clean washer is to remove the odor-causing residue. The "splash area" just 3-5 inches above the normal waterline is where the worst buildup is. To clean the whole tub use a washer cleaner that is able to be used with clothing in the washer. The added laundry will raise the water level to include the splash area.
There are many washer cleaners on the market. Some are all natural and can be used with laundry to safely clean inside the washing machine. After you get rid of odor you'll need to change your washing habits so it doesn't come back.

I am dumb!...i washed a rug in the washer, and it caused a clog. The water wouldnt drain, but it would spin, and then act like it wanted to drain, start to spin again, click off and try to...

It is possible 1 or both drum springs have become unhooked, or the dampers have come ourt of the sockets.
You should be able to rehook the spring/s back , but it does require some effort.
Remove lower rear cover of washer to check the suspensions.

Washed a wool VERY linty rug and washer quit, won't spin, won't drain, won't run. Motor hums. Suspect scads of lint in trap. How to fix? We cannot locate the lint trap. Frigidaire front loader....

Sandy, What has happened is the peices from the rug have jammed into the agitator against the drum. This causes the agitator not to agitate and the drum has been jammed against the agitator. To fix this problem you will need to remove the agitator. Depending on how old the washer is is going to let you know how hard it will be to remove the agitator. The top of the agitator has a cap that will unscrew to the left. Once the cap is removed you will need to grab the base of the agitator at the 3-9 position and attempt to lift. This may come right up and you can remove the debris in the area and reinstall the oppisite of the above, however of the agitator does not come up easily you wiil need to get an appliance repairman out since he has the right tool for the job

Good luck hope this helped

Need bolts to stabilize washer for move

Dont know if you can purchase these. First people to try are the manufactures. Otherwise, unscrew the two screws at the rear top of machine and pull backwards to remove top. Then pack some towells or rugs around the drum then replace top. Don,t forget to remove rugs at new home.!! Good luck on your move.

Banging while spinning and disintegrating gasket

Most likely not the drum bearing on this one.

I believe that your inner basket support has failed. It's a common problem on 4+ year old duet washers. This is by far the most labor intensive repair that can be done on the duet washer. You will need to tear down the machine for this repair. Expect it to be a four to eight hour job depending on your level of skill.

The basket is under lifetime warranty. The new basket will come w/the basket support already attached to it. Stupid as it sounds, You can't buy the bolt-on basket support alone, You need the entire basket! wtf?

The front section of the outer tub is supposed to have a 10yr warranty. Being that the tub was damaged by the basket, They may or may not warranty the parts.

Do a search on fixya. There is a guy from MA that has a complete set of pictures and info on the rotted/broken basket support.
