Please don't misunderstand but maybe you accidentally touch someting inside the system while cleaning it that caused for the computer not to work properly. Be careful in cleaning our computer specially inside. Replug all the links needed because the computer may reconfigurate it again before it will work. If it won't work however, please contact you Hardware IT Technician.

My mouse is not working on my laptop, it wont move

Hello debbiestar34,
Typically on a laptop computer there is an extra set of keys called the function keys. You will notice these keys are identified (usually) by a different colour of text on the keys of your keyboard.
You can probably find a key labeled "Fn" or "Function" in the bottom left of your keyboard, between the "Ctrl" and "Alt" buttons. Once you've found that key, look at your other keys and you should see one that somewhat resembles the touchpad on your computer or a simple rectangle with a mouse cursor inside it.
If you've found both of those keys, start by pressing and holding the "Fn" key, then press the one for your touchpad then release both keys. That should work.

Hi , i got a question about the wireless optical mouse , just wondering if it's possible to open the top part (the cover i think) for cleaning purposes?

you can open it given that u know how to take it out and put it back without breaking it... and also i would say that u dont have to do it... it wont make much changes and also what will u clean inside a mouse??? there wont be much dust inside... probably u can clean the bottom part... for easy movement... and also if u open the mouse, the warranty (if u have one) will be tampered...

so all together i would suggest u not to open it.... :)

I can't get my wireless keyboard to work even after trying everything can think go or told by Windows XP. Anything else i could try? Lee

Hi,

First try changing the batteries, reconnect the dongle or the connection device of your wireless keyboard and mouse, then restart your computer. If the step wont work reinstall the Bluetooth/Infrared software driver the wireless keyboard and mouse then restart the computer. If this fails still look under Ad/Remove programs if you have a Setpoint installed then remove it and restart computer, both or at least one of the devices should work. If one or both wont work then you need to contact the manufacturer and have the defective device/s be replaced. Just a heads up, they may ask you to reinstall your operating system / do a reformat of your computer so you need to back up your data ahead of time using a wired keyboard and mouse. Have a nice day ahead!

Connection procedure for Toshiba N745 mouse needed.

I don't know if this is the same as my mouse. However I have a satellite1955-S803 with wireless detachable keyboard and full sized optical wireless mouse. The original owner said it came with the laptop.
First I tried very hard to get the keyboard working. After a frustrating day of calling Toshiba, I noticed the "detachable" latches. I removed the keyboard to find a battery compartment. 4 days go by with me calling Toshiba trying to get a replacement. Finally found a battery at batteries plus that does work. about half the mAhr of the original but hey it works.
Now to the mouse. Replaced the AA's batteries but couldn't tie the mouse to the computer. I run linux so no M$ driver would help. Finally found a PDF of the manual and it says "if the mouse has trouble activating, press the wireless mouse button on the laptop."
That button is on the front left edge of the laptop (where the "Intel inside", "XP loaded", and "nvidia" stickers are located ) just to the left of the front silver "mode" button. Under the mouse press the connect button. (round near the optic laser but un-labled) then press the wireless mouse button on the computer and there you go. It just connects and works.
2 weeks I looked for this and it was just that simple.

Keyboard and mouse lose signal

okay this wont hurt your computer or cause conflick go to logitech.com click on right side support scroll on drop down menu and look for the unit that resembles you unit and download file and reboot. not all wireless keyboard and mouse are stable an if they are it can be for a short time. then they have to be replaced . did the wire less set come with a disk if so you need to run it.. another thing you should know is that windows vista is very unstable, do the research dont mean to sound harsh. another thing . go into the control panel click add hardware let it search and install if its there.. another thing you can to do, go into control panel , click on sysytem click on hardware , click device manger drop down menu will appear with plus signs next to each item. expand by clicking on small plus signs highlight riight click update driver, if nothing, disable funtion which would be your wireless set and reboot, restart. this should work, freddiemccly@yahoo.com

Keyboard stopped working

Have you tried cleaning out the keyboard?

Dust can get in there & play havoc on the plastic board inside of it.

I take mine apart every 9mos to a year, completely.

Wireless mouse

Hi,
f you find the little reset button on the base, or between the buttons, and push it in, using a pencil or something, and hold for a few seconds, you'll find it'll work now.
Otherwise, replace the batteries.

Hope this helps
