Hi,
probably you need to change the drum cleaning blade. Its a long silicon rubber stripe that cleans the excessive toner from the drum surface. Also replace the developer units seals to prevent the developer and toner leak.

Hope that helps.

Toner leaking and low quality copy

I would check the transferbelt/wastebox/cleaning unit to see if it is full or have a problem with cleaning.
If it is full it will make a soundt as some toner is forced out of the wastebox. I've seen a few examples of cleaning blades that does not clean smoothly too. When the blade moves toner scatters.
It it is full, empty the wastebox and change the cleanin blade.

If not, check the drum and the drum cleaning. I've had a "jumping" cleaning blade on the drum too, also resulting in toner scattering inside the machine. It that is the case, the blade must be changed.

In order to make this machine run kind of OK, you need to keep it super clean, change developer and other parts at least as often as Ricoh says in the service manual.
Make sure you have the latest firmware model, and the right toner.

It is a machine that runs dirty, and based on the POS Adonis series of machines from Ricoh.
For other viewers here, stay away from the Ricoh Aficio 350/450, 1035/45, 2035/45 and newer models like the MP 3500/4500.

You will notice companies that sell copiers from differente brands often have decided not to sell this model from Ricoh, and just choose a different make/brand as their machines (in this segment) are better.

How to clean Ricoh Aficio MP 2000

sounds like either drum blade has fail or drum is bad. try printing the counter report and see if it is doing this. Then photo conductor unit needs to be rebuilt or replace. open right side door and look at drum make sure you don't touch it and see if toner is on it. If so drum blade has fail. call a tech or buy new photo conductor unit. this are good for approx 60,000 copies but sometimes will go longer age also play with drum blade life. were you might have 20,000 copies but unit is 5 years old

I HAVE A RICOH FW770 PRINTER THAT HAS BACKGROUND IMAGES, STREAKS AND SOME SPOTTING FROM THE DEVELOPER. THIS STARTED SLOWLY AND HAS GOT WORSE DAILY. I THOUGHT THE CARTRIDGE WAS BAD AND REPLACED IT. NO...

First of all the machine requires regular service.
The approx life of certain parts are as follows
Drum : 50000 copies(A1 size )
Developer : 20000 copies(A1 size )
So please check how many copies your machine has done , so that you know what you need to replace beforehand.
About the cartridge, before using it ,shake it well and make sure the gear at the end is turning properly.
Life of the toner is approx 1800 copies(A1 size ).

We have a Ricoh FW770 large format copier which leaves toner speckles on the sheet. What is the problem? We have replaced the toner cartridge as well as the recovery blade but still these spots of toner...

There could be some corona wires in there that are built up with toner that need to be cleaned. Im not sure how the transfer system works on the large format printers but if it's anything like an Oce one, that should do the trick.

On the konica 2223 when printing it leaves a dark thick line down the center of the paper.

Konica 2223 copiers are analog meaning the image that comes out on copies is a direct reflection off of the copy. Dirty mirrors in the optic section can cause a dark band, but it is more of a shading effect. Drum assembly's can be removed. The image drum has a cleaning section that uses a urethane blade to clean excess toner off of the drum after the copy passes through. It is simply called a "Cleaning Blade" these blades can be ordered through most online copier part stores. Last but not least is the "Upper Fuser Roller". this is the hot roller the paper passes through to "set" the toner to the paper. These are coated with teflon to prevent toner from sticking to them. They have "seperator claws" that keep the paper from adhereing to the roller, and they sometimes gouge the teflon. this exposes bare metal, and the toner can come off of the copies and stick to the roller.

Drum has toner on it/Cleaning the drum

You will need to replace it, you can use a soft cloth and clean it off, but it will only come back after the next print.

Light and broken printout and black mark on the backside

Have the service people set the machine to add toner(per pixelcount) and test run it for a day or two. If this works it means the sensor in the developer unit that tells the machine to add toner from the cartridge is bad. If that is the case replace the sensor. It sounds like the machine is not adding toner to itself. Have them also test the toner motor.
