Did you put batteries that were fully charged in? And if so did you put them in the correct alignment. Postive/negative up or down.

The batteries die in less than 45 min

you didn't put what type of battery you used.

Well What can i recommend is that you need to purchased the recommended battery for the camera AA NI-MH or the KAA2HR type of rechargeable battery, Now if you don't want to use a rechargeable battery you may try to use kodak Oxy alakaline battery.

Kodak C813 turns off because of low battery - all of the time!

The way to test this is to have some new batteries of the best grade, don't use the cheaper types, these may not make these cameras work correctly. I have seen this problem before.

Also you can try a set of fully charged rechargeable batteries. These kinds of cameras may use more power and need more power to make them work right.

Put brand new batteries in camera took three pic then they die

Hi, you will only solve this by buying the official KODAK battery (KLIC-8000) - NZD52.00 retail here in New Zealand. Even the generic CR3V rechargeable batteries dont work, so dont waste your $$ on them.
Even now, with the 'official' battery, when taking flash photos or zooming a lot, I find that it is only taking around 150 - 200 shots, when Kodak boast over 400.
But I must say the capabilities of the camera (esp the quality video) outstrip any annoyance battery wise.
Hope this helps, regards Wayne
