Question about Allied Telesyn Computers & Internet

Open Question

I added a new network interface card (Allied Telesis AT 2711FX/MT-901) to the server (HP Proliant DL360 G7). There is RedHat EL5 installed on that server with kernel 2.6.18-164.el5. After I have configured the new interface and want it to ACTIVATE, the server will hang. There is only "determining IP information..." on the screen. thank you and sorry my bad english Timo

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: install an operating system (Windows Server 2008) on a used HP

Hi, Have you checked the BIOS? Check the Backup ROM option (change to Backup ROM)
If you haven't change the Boot Order: Go into RSBU and change the Order.
Note: If you have Scsi you do not need to do any additional things rather than this. If your product has a Smart Array Controller, during the POST, press F8 during the Smart Array controller ID to access the configuration utility, delete and re-create the disk array to wipe out whatever might be on the disks.
Feel free to contact again. Let me know what happened.
Thanks for contacting Fixya! (Please rate the answer as well)

How to replace raid card battery

Firstly, shut down the server. Open the top cover and look for the RAID card battery. Should be easy enough to spot it. Unplug it from the board and replace with the new one. Power on your server and look for change notifications.

Servers don't come with sound cards, since they are not required in a business environment. You would have to purchase an add-on card.

Hi, I want to install an Ubuntu server edition on my HP proliant dl360 G3 series. This install is located on a USB-stick and I want to install it from there. How do I do this? Thanks in advance.

You firstly have to make your usb key bootable just google instructions on how to do that.
Set the boot order in the bios to boot from it and then transfer the image to the usb key and install from it.

Need Sound Card for HP DL360 G4 with PCI

Hello,

Try this: First-install the software for the Sound Blaster card. (from the cd if you have it.) Next, if you have Internet access download the latest driver updates for Sound Blaster making sure you get the correct os. (Server is a NOS; Network Operating System) Once all done THEN install the card and reboot your system. This should do the trick.

Good Luck
