I have been watching TV catchup and BBC1 Iplayer but each time I am asked to download adobe flash player/ It is installed and until yesterday everything was working now its; not - I've re-installed adobe but the programmes continue to ask me to install - can you help ??

This may not be as helpful as either of us would wish, but I had the same problem with my Finlux TV. It seems to be a fact that they do not make all programmes available on "Catch Up", as I found out one day when trying to watch something on Catch Up online, when some of them were only available for a very short time unless you were subscribing to one of the major entertainment suppliers.

Hi Susan. I'm going to ask you to completely uninstall Adobe Flash and reinstall it as the latest version.

To Uninstall Adobe Flash Player:

1. Download the Adobe Uninstaller below http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/support/uninstall_flash_player.exe
2. Exit all browsers and apps that use Adobe Flash.
3. Run the installer that you just downloaded.
4. Verify Adobe was uninstalled by restarting your PC, opening your browser and going to Flash Player Help, and clicking on "Check Now".

Adobe Flash Player should now be completely uninstalled.

To Install Adobe Flash Player:

1. Visit Adobe Install Adobe Flash Player and click "Install Now".
2. Close all apps and browsers running Adobe Flash and run the install program.
3. After running the install, visit Flash Player Help and click "Check Now".
4. Your Flash version should now be displayed along with your browser and OS.

Workaround procedure to get this to work 1. Go to BBC1. 2. Go to the Guide and select channel 200 - BBC Red Button. Press OK. 3. Exit the Guide and wait. You should see a notice about the BBC Red Button Service. Wait a few seconds. 4. Press the RED button - the display switches to BBC1 and shows the standard (Text) Red Button Index. 5. Press the BLUE button to close the Index. The display shows the BBC1 video and sound. 6. Press the RED button to get into the Red Button Menu. 7. Wait a few seconds and then select the BBC iPlayer. I gained access to the iPlayer once this way yesterday and twice so far today but when I went straight to the iPlayer from BBC1 I lost the sound. I've just shutdown and then re-started the HD500 and successfully accessed the iPlayer using the above method. Note, that if it doesn't work then just switch your box into standby, wait 15 minutes or until the Hard Disk stops and then you can switch it on again. No mains power-off or reset is required.

Things they don't tell you

When installing the newest version of Adobe Flash Player, it will NOT automatically uninstall the old version.

If the old version is still there, the new version will not install.

Go down to -
1. Download the uninstaller for Flash Player,
and click on the blue - uninstaller (674KB)

A small window will come up on the Right -
Opening uninstall_flash_player.exe
Click on Save File.

Another small window will come up on the left. (Download window)
After the file has fully downloaded, DOUBLE-click on it.
Click on Next, Next, and Finish.

Run the tool.
When finished restart your computer if not asked to do so.

To install the latest version of Adobe flash player, kindly
follow below instructions:
1. Open web browser(like IE, Mozilla, etc) and go to
http://www.adobe.com
2. Click on "Downloads" section or tab
3. Once you are directed to the "Featured product
downloads" section, click on the "Get ADOBE FLASH PLAYER"
at the right side of the page.
4. You will then be directed to another page containing the
latest version of Adobe Flash Player (i.e. Adobe Flash
Player 11.1.102.55). Version may change from time to time.
If you do not want to install the Free Google Toolbar
kindly uncheck the box that says "Yes, install Google
Toolbar-optional "
5. Click on "Download Now". When you get the prompt or
security warning window just click "Run". If you get
another prompt asking "Do you want to run this software?"
just click "Run" again.
6. When User Account Control dialog box appears, click
"Yes".
7. Once installation is complete just click "Finish".

There's no flashplayer available for your BB curve. But If you're looking to view youtube videos it will be played automatically if you have the latest OS version for your BB device (my BB curve has v5.0.0.1036 and I can watch youtube videos).

this phone does not support flash player so you may be running into a problem there .if you cant watch youtube try downloading the app from the market on our phone if its not available then your phone dosent support video of anykind
