I don't know if maybe my calculator has a function turned on that rounds the answer to a whole number? But here is an example: 106 x 6.32 = 670 according to my calculator, which is wrong. The real answer...

Your calculator is set to display no digits after the decimal point. To change this, you have two options: press 2nd [SCI/ENG] then select "FLO" for floating decimal or press 2nd [FIX] then select the desired number of digits after the decimal point (or F for floating).

Changing from x10^-3 to decimal

Two alternatives:
Press SHIFT MODE 6 then a digit greater than 2 to specify the desired number of digits to the right of the decimal point. For example, of you select 3 the number will be displayed rounded off to 0.004 .
Press SHIFT MODE 9 2 to select the NORM2 mode.
Be aware that in any mode if the magnitude of the number drops below 10^-9 then the calculator will automatically switch to scientific mode. The calculator can't display more than nine digits after the decimal point---the display just isn't big enough.

Change the display mode. Press SHIFT MODE 6 then the number of desired digits after the decimal point. Alternatively, press SHIFT MODE 8 and select one of the "Norm" modes.
This is all in the "Specifying the Number of Display Digits" section on page E-8 of the manual.

Is their away to round whole number on a ti30 calculator

To do this you need to set your calculator to a fixed decimal value. You can do this by Pressing 2nd + FIX (decimal point) and then setting it to 0 decimal places. This will round a number to the nearest whole number.
Hope that helps.

I cant get a anser it comes out in scientific notation

Press [SHIFT][MODE] to enter the (SETUP) screen, then select the number to the left of FIX. Once you do you will be prompted to enter a number between 0 and 9. If you enter 4 all your decimal results will have 4 decimal digits. If you choose 0, all decimal numbers will be rounded to the nearest integer (whole number).

Regardless of the floating display mode (SCI, FIX or NORM) the calculator is configured for, the decimal results will be in SCIENTIFIC format if they are too small or too large.

Everytime I put decimals into my calculator, it just rounds the answer to the nearest whole number.

Increase the number of decimal digits in display.
  1. Press [SHIFT][MODE] to access the {SETUP)
  2. Enter the number (6) corresponding to option [6:FIX]
  3. In screen that is displyaed, enter the number of decimal digits you want (2, 3, or 4). If you enter 0, all decimal numbers will be displayed as integers (rounded). If you enter 9, you will have long numbers but that is hardly ever necessary.
