I would test the switch with a ome meter and see if you are getting power to the wires that go to the switch.

If door switch does not close electrically then nothing should happen. Could be misaligned or broken switch.

A H4 code is a problem with the fuser unit. That xerox is a Sharp copier. You may have a blown thermister or thermal fuse or a fusing lamp. You may need to repair the problem before you can clear it. I believe the code to reset it is in service mode SM 16

There is a button on the bottom that will connect the wirless mouse to the receiver that you will need to push.
