You should run the installer in repair mode in order to recover the lost files. You can also have a fresh install if you have the setup. re-post for further help.

On startup I get this message, installation C:\program Files\Mindscape\AGCraft\pminst.DAT is bad or missing. What do I need to do?

Hi

The only solution for corrupted or missing file from operating system is either repair or reinstall the operating system.

In repair mode, it will not delete any files or softwares in your computer. Just mere repairing of operating system.

In reinstallation mode, it will wipe out all your files and softwares and I suggest you back up your files before running the reinstallation.

Here is the blog on how to reinstall the operating system with video. I mention also about the how to repair the OS. http://www.fixya.com/support/r7410371-reinstall_windows_xp_or_installing_clean

Excel gives error "compile error" excel 2007

There are a bunch of compile errors.

Here is the most common since you did not include the entire error...

This problem may occur when the following conditions are true:
  • The Microsoft Office Startup folder or the Microsoft Excel Startup folder contains either or both of the following Adobe Acrobat PDFMaker add-in template files: Pdfmaker.dot
    Pdfmaker.xla
  • Norton AntiVirus software is installed.

Method 1: Download the latest version of the add-in for Adobe Acrobat 5.0 loadTOCNode(2, 'resolution'); To obtain an updated add-in for Adobe Acrobat 5.0, visit the following Adobe Web site: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/update.html (http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/update.html) Note Microsoft does not support downloading and installing add-ins from the Adobe Web site. If you need help, you must contact Adobe Technical Support. uparrow.gifBack to the top Method 2: Move the files loadTOCNode(2, 'resolution'); Move the Pdfmaker.dot file and, if present, the Pdfmaker.xla file from the Office or Excel Startup folder to a different folder on your hard disk. For example, you can move the files to the My Documents folder.

To have us move these files for you, go to the “Fix it for me” section. If you would rather fix this problem yourself, go to the “Let me fix it myself” section. Fix it for me loadTOCNode(3, 'resolution'); To remove these files automatically, click the Fix this problem link. Click Run in the File Download dialog box, and follow the steps in this wizard.

Fix this problem
Microsoft Fix it 50303

Note this wizard may be in English only; however, the automatic fix also works for other language versions of Windows.

Note If you are not on the computer that has the problem, you can save the automatic fix to a flash drive or to a CD, and then you can run it on the computer that has the problem. Let me fix it myself loadTOCNode(3, 'resolution'); Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

To remove these files yourself this, follow these steps.
  1. Click Start, point to Search, and then click For Files or Folders.
  2. In the Search for file or folders named box, type pdfmaker.dot pdfmaker.xla.
  3. In the Look In box, click the disk drive where Windows is installed, such as C:, and then click Search Now.

The Pdfmaker.dot file is located in one of the following folders:
    • C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Startup (Word 2000)
    • C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\Startup (Word 2002)
    • C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\Startup
The Pdfmaker.xla file in located in one of the following folders:

    • C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\Xlstart (Excel 2002)

  4. In the Search Results window, right-click the file for each file that is found, and then click Cut.
  5. On your desktop, right-click the My Documents folder, and then click Paste.

Will noy boot up

Hello,

some of your operating system files is missing/corrupt, that's why the main windows cannot open/load.

You will need to repair your windows operating system (win xp/vista), in other to solve this problem.

To repair your windows, you will be needing a windows operating system CD, insert it into your player and run setup. While you are installing, it will get to a stage where the system will ask you if you want to restore, click restore and the missing/corrupt files will be reinstalled.

Good luck.

The file in computer missing or corrupted

Will it boot to safe mode? If so, run chkdsk and have it do a through scan and fix all errors. You can do this via a bootable rescue disk or the Windows CD if safe mode does not work either.

If running chkdsk doesn't work, you'll have to extract the missing files from the Windows CD using the Recovery Console. If that doesn't work, then it's time for a repair install using the Windows CD.

A FILE WINDOWS SYSTEM ROOT 32 IS MISSING OR CORRUPT

Try starting in 'SAFE MODE'.
Click START
Click RUN
Type CMD and press ENTER.
Type 'CHKDSK C: /F' and press ENTER.
If you are prompted to shutdown & restart to run the "check disk", do so.
During the restart, "check disk" will find/repair any file-system problems, and then restart in "normal" mode.

Missing or bad msacm32.dll file attributed to many files not running, i.e., setup.exe, rundll32.exe, Explorer.exe and many more. is there any way to fix it without reformatting

The answer depends on why these files are missing.

Can you boot the computer at all or into safe mode?

If so you could run the "System Restore Wizard" and restore your system to a point before this problem happened. You can find the system restore wizard in the windows help.

This should fix the problem if has been caused by a virus or an accidental file deletion but if your disk had bad blocks or something then it might need replacing.

If this does not solve the problem tell us more about the exact error message and when it occurs.
