Question about HP Designjet Z6100 InkJet Printer

We spend a large portion of our day desperately trying to load paper and always getting the "paper loaded with too much skew" message. The paper is straight and on the blue line, i'd love to trun this checking feature off totally , can it be done?

What type of paper are you using? It's common on cheap canvas or fabrics. Make sure the beginning of the roll about 10 inches must be straight in right side (blue line side). The paper slips upward freely and straight before lowering blue lever. Also this problem appears when your room is dry (low moisture) then PP sticker and some photo paper will curl. This checking feature is very useful for printing on whole roll in a single feed.

With the Z6100 there is a very common fault of 'Paper missaligned please unload and restart'
the best solution is two fold
1. have a service technician perform a platen blue line media calibration on your machine ( this corrects the blue line Shift) .
2. when loading the media make absolutely sure the media is loaded on the spindle correctly and as tight up to the spindle end caps as possible. then when Loading pull enogh media to align through the machine and BACK down to the spindle, aligning the media edges here - not at the blue line. oftren is the case when the media is accepted that the BLUE PLATEN line is not at the media edge! .

Lift blue error

Typically the lift blue lever error comes up if the plotter detects skew when loading paper. If the paper cannot be loaded without skew then either you do not have the roll seated on the holder properly or the roll of paper was not made properly, which I have seen.

I keep getting "Remove Paper" message when there is no paper loaded

One of the sensors in the printer probably has a small piece of paper in front of it or a sensor has gone bad.

Error message to "Load Paper"

Push something thicker than a plain sheet of paper through. Cut a side of a manilla folder into a 8.5"x11" and let the printer try to grab it during a copy. After doing it's normal "grab the right side until it's skewed and stop", continue to try to push it through.

I consistently get a "Paper Skewed" message on

It's just a practice with every plotter that i've worked on.The guide lines are absolutely inacurate. For every individial z6100 may be different but in mine the the right side of the paper must be about 3mm inside from the tip of the guide arrows(the paper must cover 3mm of the arrows).

When i give print command the paper was jammed in printer.

The following sections describe how to load media into the different input trays. CAUTION: If you try to print on media that is wrinkled, folded, or damaged in any way, a jam might occur. Priority feed slot The priority feed slot holds one sheet of media up to 163 g/m2 (43 lb) or one envelope, transparency, or cardstock. Load media with the top forward and the side to be printed facing up. To prevent jams and skewing, always adjust the side media guides before feeding the media. Back to top 150-sheet main input tray The input tray holds up to 150 pages of 75 g/m2 (20 lb) paper or fewer pages of heavier media of 25 mm (0.9 inches) or less stack height. Load media with the top forward and the side to be printed facing up. To prevent jams and skewing, always adjust the side and front media guides. NOTE: When you add new media, make sure that you remove all of the media from the input tray and straighten the stack of new media. This helps prevent multiple sheets of media from feeding through the printer at one time, reducing media jams.

Recurent paper jam on Cannon Pixma MX300

Some printers have a certain paper height or paper load you can have loaded at one time. I would try loading a smaller amount of paper and see if that helps. If it still does the same thing your paper thickness lever may be damaged.

Out of paper message

there is a paper guide that supports paper on the tray, if you look closely you can even see the paper sizes that corresponds with your printer either (lettter size or 8 1/2 x 11) if this is not set correctly then you can get skewed on your prints, if i understand you correctly, or kindly elaborate some more
