No sound after format

When you format a computer hard drive you will lose EVERYTHING on the drive. Chances are that you did not reinstall the necessary sound drivers to operate your speakers.

I have no sound on my new tower unit ?

Usually when there is no sound the problem can be fixed by reinstalling the device drivers for your sound card. You can download the drivers from the manufacturer's website if you can not reinstall the drivers from a dvd that came with your unit when you bought.
If you have internet service, you can: go to control panel (if you are using Windows), select device manager, sound, video , and game controllers, select your sound card (if it isd not working properly you should see a yellow dot with an asterikinside it). double click on it and a property sheet will open. Select the reinstall driver option. A hardware wizard will open. Choose the option to automatically install the driver and search the internet for it. The driver will be install for you.
