Question about Nokia 8800 Arte Cellular Phone

1 Answer

Dear Sirs I have a new Nokia Arte Gold 8800. When calling, I can hear the echo of my voice and the loudspeaker is on. I cannot find out how to turn off the loudspeaker. The phone is, as I can see, in the hands-free mode. How can I turn it off, so that I can make calls just in a normal way? Thnak you for your help! Monica Mueller

Hello,

Attempt to make a call by dialing a number on your phone. When the phone rings or when the call has been picked, look at the down right part of the screen, you would see "Loudspeaker" or "Handset". The the button and the call will change to loudspeaker, press again and the call will handset which is the normal way.

Or look at the down left part of the screen, ( I mean the edge), you will see "Option". Press the option button to deactivate loudspeaker.

If the above doesn't solve the problem, then maybe it is a reception/signal problem. To confirm, connect a headset to your phone and make a call. If the call is clear with the headset, then it means it's not a signal problem. But if the headset also echos, then it's a reception problem. You can make the call in another direction, you could go out of the house or upstairs for more signal.

Another possible cause of this problem is cause by Television or Radio radiation. If your TV or radio is on while you are receiving or making calls, this can cause echo.

Lastly, you can just turn off your phone, remove the battery and Sim card (if any). Insert them back and turn the phone on again. The try again.

I hope the above helps. If it doesn't help, please let me know so that I can direct you further on what next to do.

I wish you good luck.

Take care!

Hi i have nokia 8800 e-1 shaphire arte and the phone work fore one day but nekst da i cant call out or take call inn? so i vonder what can bee wrong and i hope you can help

Hi.

Do a firmware update. This phone uses FOTA technology that allows doing the firmware update straight on the phone, downloading firmware directly from Nokia server.

To do the update:

Select Menu > Settings > Phone > Phone updates

Try also replacing the SIM card for a while to test if problem was SIM card. A defective SIM can cause similar problems.

If that does not work, try:

Select Menu > Settings > Rest. factory sett.

That will reset phone to factory, data and addresses won't be deleted.

Here manuals.

I have nokia 7610 set i m facing a problem when i called or some one call me voice not coming bt other person hear my voice bt i dont. when i open loudspeaker then i can listen only..

mean that earpieces of your problem set, dismantle your set and try to correct the foot of earpieces, clean the gold pad on the PCB as opposed to the foot of the earpieces. If the problem remains the same means you need to change the new earpieces.

How to change language in NOKIA 8800 Arte . There is no Arabic language in Menu. I wanna Arabic?

If there is no Arabic in the Phone how can you switch to Arabic? Not possible unless you re-install the firmware with Arabic as an option. Go to Nokia Care and ask them if they have firmware with Arabic as an option.
