Question about Asrock ConRoe1333-D667 Motherboard

Open Question

I am having a desktop of basic setup (and a bit older too) having a Intel E2140 Dualcore CPU running on Asrock ConRoe 1333-D667 motherboard. It's a 20 pin ATX motherboard actually. Today I purchased a Corsair VX450 PSU for my desktop. But it refused to run after installation on my board. It shown no sign of working not even a slight spin of fan, no sound nothing. It behaved as if there is no power supply to it. But my system worked fine when I reverted to my old PSU again. (a stock psu of some generic brand that came with the cabinet). The first thing that came to my mind was that may be mine is a DOA. Then on second thought I thought may be the PSU is not compatible with my mother board. (Link to the product page is given above). But how to confirm it? I googled for it and read here that all Corsair PSU's are backwards compatible to ATX 12v 2.01. Does my motherboard not fall to this category? Sorry I am not very much tech savvy so I need your help on this. Will somebody out here willing to help me setting this up?

SOURCE: asrock dual core 775 vsta motherboard

Since the only thing connected is the power suppy and the CPU, this is often caused by a power supply unable to provide the power to the MB. You will need to swap out the power supply and that should take care of the problem.

SOURCE: Asrock K7VM2 Motherboard Memory Upgrade

Some MOBO support different type of memory modules like ddr 400, 333,533 and other, if your computer is working fine with that PC400 it only means that your MOBO is compatible with it. Since you're planning to upgrade the memory just get another PC400 because the memory should be the same to work fine.

Intel lga775 motherboard drivers dul cpu e2140

E2180 and E2140 should be installed in a "Socket 775" motherboard. Go to the website of the manufacturer/brand name of the motherboard and click on Support. Locate your exact model of motherboard and click on Download drivers. Then select which operating system you are using (example: Windows XP or Windows 7 64-bit, etc.) There will be a list of necessary drivers for you to download and install. The motherboard manufacturer always has the drivers for their brand name.

Can I Play games that require 2.2Ghz in 1.6Ghz

If its a free download or you already have the sim, then try it, otherwise if you must fork out your hard-earned cash, probably not advisable.
The 'need for speed', or higher CPU clock-speed, is to allow the sound, video frames, rendering and algorithm calculations to all run smoothly in sync.
Check if they specify 'Absolute Minimum Requirement'.
On my old PC, an iNtel P4 1.6GHz single processor running Win XP, 2GB RAM, I barely managed to run intensive resource-hungry games, but often ended up with a frustrating 'slide-show' or total freeze.
After upgrade to 64-bit 3.58GHz core-2-duo, 8GB RAM, i'm thrilled at SMOOTH performance.

I have an Intel D845HV motherboard running with a

In short, yes you can upgrade to a P4 cpu but from the compatibility chart at Intel support, it looks like the upper limit for this older board is the P4 2.6GHz.

Note: Even at that, running the P4 2.6 would require a BIOS upgrade to P12 or greater.

Luckily, the following link has the information you seek: (for BIOS info, click the "BIOS Version" link in the upper right corner of the compatibility table provided)

Intel D845HV CPU Compatibility

I hope this info is helpful!
