Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
You should be able to have the brackets changed and the door mechanism adjusted. The washer is lacking a good earth return for you to be getting small electric shocks. Both should be easy to be fixed, the first by an engineer but the second will possibly need an electrician UNLESS the engineer finds that the bad earth is inside the machine and fixes it;-0)
Good luck,
John C

while searching for info about my problem i have found that my washer is part of a recall from 2007 that has an electrical short problem when water inside that machine leaks on the wiring. Apparently the cause of me getting shocked, they are sending me a part to fix that, a GFCI adapter. now to see if i can open the front of the machine to see if i can change the brackets myself..

That's the important thing- getting it fixed!

Both the freezer and fridge doors hinge on the right, and the left hand side has sagged a little so neither neither door is sealing properly. How do I adjust the doors to raise the left side of the...

The lower hinge on each door may have a door closing cam. It raises the door up ¼ inch when opening and this assist in closing the door. If it's wore out and doesn't work the door may not seal and the gasket can be damaged. Watch the operation of the door to see if it rises up when opened.

Leave the door shut and let the magnetic gasket hold the door in place. Put something between the bottom of the door and the floor to hold it in case it slips.
Remove the bracket holding the pin and hinge assembly taking note of order of removal of parts. Slide new cams on. You probably need two.

Left door of the refer isn't closing properly, must manually feed it thru the little channel at the top for it to fold in and close

Hi,

check the door hinges a in place:
The door latch and lower hinge pin should hold your refrigerator door in place..
Uncover the door by removing the screws.Take the door off and pack bottom hinge with washers and make sure hinge brackets on cabinet are tight.
Check the seal is clean and pliable:
If seal is gapping, one solution is to warm with a hairdryer and pull outwards gently.
Check the refrigerator is properly leveled:
Adjust the middle hinge to straighten the lower portion of the door. Use a level to ensure the door is flush.

After fitting the door back again, check to see if the seal is touching on all sides when the door is closed. If not, you will need a new seal.Refrigerator is properly leveled.and hinges should be properly placed.

post a comment for further assistance.

Thank you for using fixya have a nice day:-)

I have a Maytag MDE4700A electric dryer. It quit working (turning) but still heated up. I took the cabinet apart and found that the belt was broke. Need some assistance on beginner steps for replacing...

Disconnect power to the dryer then open the door and remove the center screw of each hinge secured to the inner flange of the front panel in the door opening. Grasp the door with both hands and lift the door in the hinge area then draw the door assembly away from the dryer to disengage the hinges from the slots in the front shroud.

Remove the four screws located vertically along the inside lip of the door opening. These screws hold the front panel to the front shroud assembly.

Once the four screws are removed, grasp and press in on the upper edges of the front panel posts then twist it inward to release the clips holding it to the cabinet. Tilt the top of the front panel and move it away from the dryer.

The top cover is held on each side of the cabinet by two hold down brackets. Locate and remove the 5/16" hex-head screws holding each bracket then swing the bracket to the outside and unhook it from the slot in the top cover lip.

Disconnect the wires from the door switch, sensor bar, and the lamp holder then unsnap the lamp holder wire harness from the front shroud wire retaining clip.

Remove the four perimeter screws holding the shroud and tumbler front assembly to the cabinet. Remove the lowest outside screw at each corner then the top screw on each side.

Pull the shroud and tumbler front assembly out and away from the tumbler while slightly lifting the top cover.

Kneel near the front of the dryer and reach your left hand inside the dryer at 8 o'clock position and your right hand under the tumbler as close as possible to the blower then grasp the idler puller with your left hand and pull the idler upward and to the left.

Slip the belt off the motor pulley and the back of the tumbler then pull the tumbler out of the cabinet while lifting the top cover.

Place the belt onto the outside of the tumbler and position it 1 1/2 inches in front of the rear baffle mounting screws with the ribbed side facing the tumbler.
a35ef3c.jpg

Position the tumbler into the rear felt seal and resting it onto the rear rollers then lower the front of the tumbler onto the blower housing.

Kneel near the front of the dryer and reach your left hand inside the dryer at 8 o'clock position and your right hand under the tumbler as close as possible to the blower then locate the belt and create a small loop with your right hand, ensuring the belt is free of twist.

Position the open end of the loop onto the motor pulley with your right hand. Grasp the idler pulley with your left hand then pull the idler upward and to the left to clear the drive belt.

Relax your left hand and allow the idler pulley to rest down onto the belt. Grasp the baffles with both hands and rotate the tumbler clockwise for the belt to align itself.

Reinstall the shroud and tumbler front assembly in reverse of the removal steps. Lift the front inner edge of the tumbler to allow the front of the tumbler to rest on the teflon bearings on the shroud and tumbler front assembly. Check the felt seal to ensure that it is outside the lip of the tumbler.

Secure the top cover with the hold down brackets then push the front panel posts against the clips in the cabinet until it engage.

Insert the door hinge tabs into the slots in the front shroud and secure the hinges with the screws removed previously to complete the procedure.

Check the lower hinge of that door for a broken closer cam. The upper hinge is adjustable and adjusting the corners in the front will shift the cabinet to align the door also.

Toaster oven door will not close completely.

This problem is caused by screws being loose or dropping off a limiting bracket on the left side of the oven behind the left outer wall.  This bracket allows the front glass panel to remain OPEN, as required for broiling.
To correct this, first check to see that the two black screws facing forward, behind the left side of the front glass panel are tight.  If not, tighten firmly, but be careful not to overtighten.  If this fails to correct the problem, then follow this procedure.
Purchase 2- #4 x 1/2" SS Phillips Pan Head sheet metal screws at your favorite hardware store.  Cost About $1
  1. Unplug the oven and place on a flat work surface. Place a rubber mat or towel under the oven to prevent scratching.
  2. Remove 2- #4 x 1/4" black phillips flat head screws on the left side of the front glass panel which screw into the black side panel.  These are NOT the screws which hold the bracket, which face forward, but are adjacent to the bracket screws.  Be sure to indentify the proper location of all screws for replacement.
  3. Remove the 4- #4 x 3/8" SS phillips pan head screws at the bottom of the left side of the oven.  Pry the metal tab of the back panel slightly off the bottom of the black side panel.
  4. Remove the 3- #4 x 3/8" SS phillips pan head screws from the back panel which attaches to the left side black panel.
  5. Carefully pry the bottom of the left black side panel up from the bottom of the oven until it is parallel to the top of the oven.  It will seem hard to pry it upward as you are bending two SS tabs holding the black side panel to the SS top.  It will come up easily once you get it started.  When it is parallel to the top, slide the black side panel to the rear to remove it from the two SS tabs.
  6. You should now see the limiting bracket at the front of the oven's left side.  Remove the 2- black Phillips screws holding the bracket.
  7. Slip the limiting bracket from the oven.  Place on a wood block and with a chisel (or large common screw driver) and hammer, strike the screw holes on the bracket firmly once, so as to close the screw holes slightly.
  8. (OPTIONAL)  If available, using a rat tail file (or small flat file), at the crook of the spring lever, carefully increase the indent of the crook ever so slightly.  This will allow the front glass panel to stop more definitely at the open point.
  9. Remount the bracket using the 2- #4 x 1/2" SS Phillips Head sheet metal screws you bought. Tighten firmly, but do not overtighten.  Check the front glass panel movement. It should have a definite stop to allow the panel to stay open approximately 1/2" for broiling and should close fully, easily.
  10. Slide the left black side panel on to the SS tabs.
  11. Pry the left side black panel down until it meet the bottom plate.
  12. Replace the bottom screws.
  13. Replace the 2- #4 x 1/4" black Phillips flat head screws at the left side of the front of the front glass panel which screw into the black side panel.
  14. Replace the back panel screws.
