In some cases yes. It all depends on the type of cover bought for your device. If a cheap one then more than likely it will affect your screen.

If there is a soft cussion behind the magnet that touches your screen, there will be no problem with the case.

Hope this helps

My son put a magnet on the screen of his InnoTab2. Now it has a blank spot on the screen where the magnet was. Is there any way to repair this?

LCD displays are not affected by magnetic fields like CRT displays are. It sounds like the display might have been damaged by hitting it with the magnet and if this is the case the display will need to be replaced.

Kids ran magnet across screen

Magnets do not affect LCD screens.
If your screen is a CRT monitor then a magnet will cause this problem.
Try turning off the monitor and back on several times and the degaussing coils on the monitor may fix this problem. If the screen is still discolored then take your monitor to a TV repairer and they can degauss your monitor with a more powerful degaussing tool.

My S3370B cell phone turns off by its self, is this common?

My Nokia sometimes does this also. I found the Nokia is affected by a magnet. This magnet is located in my phone pouch case. I have fixed this by buying a phone pouch case that does not have a magnet flap on the case.

Monitor has a purple tint.

Hi there, Make sure there no speakers or electric items next to the screen.. especially items like speakers that contain magnets. The magnets in the speakers tend to affect the screen and it will change the closer the speakers are to the screen. Table lights in some cases may cause this effect. So just try moving the electrical devices away from screen.
Hope this helps,

How can i calibrate my phone

iPhone 3GS has a built-in digital compass that works just like a magnetic needle compass. The accuracy of digital compass headings can be affected by magnetic or other environmental interference, including interference caused by the close proximity of the magnets contained in the iPhone earbuds. The compass may need to be calibrated from time to time. iPhone 3GS alerts you whenever calibration is needed. To calibrate, hold iPhone 3GS in your hand and move the device in a figure 8 motion until the calibration screen disappears. The digital compass should only be used for basic navigation assistance and should not be solely relied on to determine precise locations, proximity, distance, or direction.

Calibre S affected by magnetic field

All watches are affected by magnetic fields.

Yes, your Tag watch will be affected. If it has been in a magnetic field it will need to be serviced to remove the magnetization from the movement parts.

Hope this helps,

Laptop screen is totally blank as a duster with magnet was used to wipe the screen by erros

It is highly unlikely that using the magnetic duster could damage a LCD screen except putting scratches on the surface of the screen. There is nothing in a LCD screen that can be affected by a magnet. A magnet will affect a CRT monitor because a magnetic field will affect/deflect the electronic beams that hit the color phoaphorus dots on the screen.

You could have a defective screen - a defective inverter or a CCFL lamp.
To determine if you have a LCD screen or video card problem, read this and follow the instructions.

Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom:
  • Screen flashs on red/pink and off.
  • Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal.
  • Picture flickering with dim display or appear black.
  • Picture flickering on and off.
All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp

Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power it up, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight.

Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.
