Go to this website and click the download latest version to download the utility software. Wait for a seconds and click the save button to download the software. After downloading, install the software and after installing, run the utility software. Assuming the defraggler is already on your screen. Click the drive c or d and click analyze, after analyzing your drive click defrag.

Defragmentation is a process that reduces the amount of fragmentation in file systems. It does this by physically organizing the contents of the mass storage device to store files in a contiguous region if possible, or in the smallest possible number of regions (fragments) if not. It also attempts to create larger regions of free space using compaction to impede the return of fragmentation.

Have a nice day.

Computer screen jumps while scrolling up and down

This could be due to incorrect mouse settings. It may also be an issue with smooth scrolling in Windows. You can try both disabling and enabling smooth scrolling to see setting performs better.

MOUSE SCROLL HELP

Check that you are not using this on a shiny or smooth surface. i am assuming this is a laser mouse and not a ball type. These types prefer surfaces that are different, like top of a desk where this wood grain. This is how the mouse knows how far it has moved by comparing one part of the surface to another.

It depends, do you know if there is an icon down in the taskbar near the clock that has options for your mouse, if there is then you would double click that and there should be options in there.

I'd say your video card is having trouble pushing the resolution of the monitor. I'd upgrade the video card.

Scrolling problem

It's likely to be a drivers problem rather than a card problem. When for some reason the Microsoft VGA driver gets loaded instead of the proper display driver, all the acceleration functions of the card are disabled. This can lead to the hiccupy scrolling you're referring to.

From control panel, go into display and see if your monitor is on either "(unknown device)" or "VGA compatible display adapter". Both indicate that Windows has forgotten the driver. If this is the case, go to Toshiba's website and redownload the driver for your machine, and that should resolve the problem,

Smooth scrolling

Do you mean like a slow "ripple" as it scrolls? Sounds like you need to update your video driver.

My monitor has a horrible lag

Your monitor should have a reasonable to good refresh rate so I doubt it's at fault. It sounds as if you have another program running in the background which is slowing your computer down. Press the keys CTRL. ALT and DELETE at the same time and have a look to see what's running. Close down any programs you aren't using and see if that fixes things. Another problem could be a shortage of memory. I'd recommend no less than 512 Megabytes or ram with Windows XP. If you could give me more info as to which operating system you're using, how fast is the CPU and how much memory etc it would be easier to diagnose. One last thing, you could have a virus and it's chewing up memory. Do you have an up to date virus checker? If not install AVG. it's completely free and available on the net. While you're at it install a spyhunter program and malware checker. There's some weird rogue nasties crawling all over the net. You could've even installed a nasty along with a freebie program you got off the net. BMW
