I installed a new ceiling fan 2 months ago. 1 month ago it started running very slow the capacitor was fried. I then got a replacement fan and within 2 hours the fan slowed down and the capacitor was extremely hot. what could the problem be?

Wrong way round, YOU tell us the model number and type and we tell you where to get the shade. You can see the fan in your house, but we can't. That makes it really difficult for us. Some shades are plain, some are fluted, some have patterns.
All is not lost though. Go here and take your pick. They all sell them including Harbour Breeze themselves..

I also ran into this "problem". Installed five of the same fan last week and four of them have the light switched, one of them is on a 3-way switch. All the switched lights delay when turning them on while the "always on" light operated by pull string is just fine.
Could find no explanation in the user manual other than, as previous post mentions, new federal regulations that limit the wattage. One can assume that there is some sort of regulator inside the light fixture that needs to power up and/or run some sort of check to see how much power is being pulled by the lights.
The delay is super annoying, but I suppose all light kits are going to have this now. Thank you FEDERAL GOVERNMENT!
I have an Aloha Breeze L-Style 52" Ceiling Fan(Polished Brass), Model # 29079 Bought From Wal-Mart about 1 1/2 years ago and the fan speed switch busted and the capacitor melted. I have a new switch but can't find a new capacitor because I can't read the spec info. Looking for a place to obtain the correct capacitor for this fan so I can make necessary repairs!
We were able to get 3 fans running again by replacing the capacitor which had melted in all 3 fans. On one of the fan's the casing around the motor was extremely hot, which prompted us to act quickly. I suppose the fan had been trying to start itself. We purchased the capacitors at an electrical supplier at a cost of $15 each. We were not able to locate the type of capacitors which came with the fan. I am now looking for replacement capacitors at a lower cost if possible. Does anyoe have suggestions of a reputable online dealer for capacitors at a reasonable cost? I would like to keep some on hand.
One black wire on the switch hooked to the black sources wire. The other black wire on the switch hooked black up to the fan. The green on the switch wire goes to the bare wire. If there is bare wire you can use the white wire.
