SOURCE: New Voice Mail flashing light

What worked for me was to call my phone from another phone and leave myself a voicemail. I then went in and retrieved and deleted that voicemail. Once I hung up from my voicemail service my handsets reset about 10 seconds later.

I hope this helps!

Cant turn off voice mail

It is crucial to understand that Voice Mail is a
service sometimes offered by the telephone
service provider (whom we used to call "the
phone company"). This Voice Mail is totally
different from the messages we can record &
manage with an Answering Machine System.

Turning off the Voice Mail is a function managed
by the service provider's methods & procedures
and is not specific to the phone instrument itself.

AT&T, GE, Uniden, VTech cordless phones all
include an indicator light or screen display
for alerting "Voice Mail Waiting". Usually the alert
indicator is cleared (turned off) when the user calls
the prescribed telephone number and retrieves
those stored Voice Mails, but not always.

To manually reset (turn off) the alert indicator one
usually scrolls through the phone MENUs to find
a selection labled something like "VMWI Reset?"
and choose "Yes".

Specifics vary by make and model... the model
number of your phone can be found on a small
sticker underneath the battery in the handset
(eg, CS6229).

Take this model number to www.manualslib.com
to download a free copy of the User's Manual
and learn the full details of what your phone
can (and maybe cannot) do for you.

Good luck!

Calls go straight to voice mail- how do i change this setting

It can be forwarded by 2 methods. One, is by call forwarding 7102 xxx # where xxx is usually 165. Cancel code is 7100 on the intercom or press the FWD/DND button until it says OFF. My favorite is 7104 CF No Ans, because it gives me time to answer the call if I want to and goes to VM if I don't.

It could also be blocked in the voice mail system. In that case, you'd have to log into the VM as an owner and fiollow the other prompts to unblock all calls to VM. Since each voice mail is different, although you probably have a TVS model, you will have to look around until you find the codes. The Auto Attendant status codes begin with 4. You, or someone, may have accidently pressed someting to block transfers like 415, but start with 411 and disable call blocking. If the 41x codes don't solve it, then you'll need to look in 441--Leaving a message status. It needs to be enabled if it isn't.

Hope your problem is the first, or good luck with the second :-)

Uniden dect 6.0 caller id light wiil not go out

I am not aware of any Uniden phone that has a "Caller ID" light. If you are talking about the small red LED on the top of the handset, that is a voice mail indicator and can be triggered by either a voice mail being held by your telephone service provider (Called Call Notes by some of the "bell" companies) or an unheard message on the telephones internal answering machine. Most of the time this is due to a voice mail on your service provider. If you don't think you have Voice Mail from your telephone service provider, call them and make sure, now days they include it with a bunch of other features without you ever asking for it. If you do not have voice mail through your telephone provider and there are no new messages on your answering machine, follow the Reset VMWI indicator procedures in your owners manual availible at http://www.uniden.com/index/manuals_results.cfm?cat+1

How do I retrieve my voice mail when I'm away from home?

this instruction may help you , if not a model number could help , but try these instructions . thanks

To operate from a remote location, use any touch-tone telephone, and follow these steps:
Call your telephone number and wait for the answering machine to answer. If the answering machine is off, it will answer after about 10 rings and series of beeping sounds.
During the greeting message (or a series of beeps when the answering machine is off), press [0] and enter your PIN code within 2 seconds (see "Setting a Security Code or Personal Identification Number (PIN)" on page 57).
The answering machine announces the current time and the number of messages stored in memory. You hear "To play incoming messages, press zero-two. For help, press one-zero." You will hear a beep.
Enter a remote command within 15 seconds, each command there after must be entered within 2 seconds. You may select a command from the following chart:

Changing message on Comdial Impact Telephone

Sounds like you are trying to change a voice mail recording. Your Comdial phone can be used on several different Comdial phone systems and with several different voice mail systems that all program and set up differently. Do you have any manuals or instructions for your voice mail system? If not, you will need to find out which voice mail you have and try to locate manuals.

To change main greetings, etc.. you would need administrative rights to the voice mail. There will probably be a password, hopefully you know it or it's still at default.

Message light won't come on

The voice mail turns the message waiting light on and off. The voice mail is a separate part from your phone system. Usually this is a standard setting at default for each extension but most voice mails will allow you to turn it off. Any way you look at it, this would be a system programming issue. You will need to either pay a company to make the change or you need to know which Panasonic system (and voice mail) you have and obtain system "programming" manuals. (not user guides)
