You have to remove the shell from the black base. Clean the goop from under the ink cartridges. Put the silicon on the bars after cleaning with alcohols. Grease the gears sparingly, put it back together. It will work. There are eight black and one shinny screw that need to be removed. Also a white bar with a violet gismo, pull that up to remove, and the paper guides.

This is a generic error message that can be recorded for a wide variety of problems. Basically, any time the Report Server has problems initiating an application it will record this message along with:
- Application name (i.e. WindowsService_21, WindowsService_13, WindowsService_8)
- Error description (and that can vary widely). Examples: "The endpoint cannot be created.", "The report server has encountered a configuration errorr", etc.

Try to re-seat the cartridges in the printer. Open the printer cover > remove the cartridges > close the printer cover > re-brick you printer by pulling out the power supply - black box behind the printer where the power cord is plugged in, and re-plug after 10 seconds. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and close the cover. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

If that doesn't help, the problem could be due to a clogged print cartridge nozzle. Please follow the steps below to fix print quality issues with your model:

  1. On your computer, go to Start menu.
  2. Go to Programs.
  3. Go to Lexmark 1200 Series folder.
  4. Select Lexmark Solution Center.

From the Maintenance tab, select Clean to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through to clean the print cartridge nozzles.

After printing the test page, try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Printer lights all flashing E flashing errorr

This is a cartridge problem. most likely one of them has developed incompatibility. simply change one after the other to determine which it is. if you have old used ink cartridges, use them to try.
Take care!

How do I adjust the darkness of the printing, it is currently set at 2 out of 4 darkness?

You will need to follow below process.
Print quality settings always affects on print resolution and toner usage.
to change print quality setting:
1. go to Start/settings/control panel/printers
2. then go to printer's properties.
3. go to paper/quality TAB. and select the setting that you want to use. you will get following options.
a) 1200 dpi: This setting uses ProRes 1200 to provide fine-line detail at 1200 x 1200 dpi.
b) 1200 dpi effective output quality: This setting uses ProRes 1200 to provide fine-line detail at 1200 x 1200 dpi.
c) 600 dpi: This setting provides 600 x 600 dpi output with Resolution Enhancement technology (REt) for improved text. (this is what you may need to get)
d) Economode: this settings use less toner of your printer. This is useful for mostly draft printings. You can turn this button on freely of other printing-quality settings.

Select the needed settings. Test a print.
And if it is perfect you wont be charge to give recommendation...lol

Laser jet produces printouts that are smudged and dark

Remove the toner cartridge and use a soft cloth to wipe the photo drum clean of toner. Put it back and try again, if you still get bad prints, then you need a new toner cartridge.

HP2100 laserjet won't print inserted pix in Word 2007 doc

I ended up fixing this problem myself.

I needed to set the printing resolution in the HP printing dialog box to 1200 x 1200 dpi as the HP2100 can print at this resolution.

Select: Print/Properties/Advanced/Graphics. Then set the printquality to 1200 x 1200 dpi.
