click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Hard Disk Adapter

Hello,

Why would you go back to XP after having 7?
Installing any operating system:
When you first boot the computer you will see a screen that says press: F1, Delete, etc to enter setup. Once you are in setup (BOIS) navigate with keyboard arrows to find 'boot sequence'. select boot from 'cd'. Remember you have to go back and set this to boot from hard drive after you load the OS (Operating System).
Make sure you save your files, everything will be gone. Also, backup all of your drivers or download them from the internet and store them on a USB flash drive. As you may not be able to access the internet to load them.
Boot from CD>going into setup>install xp>delete partition>create>partition>setup will format drive>quick is fine>will have some prompts for selections, etc.
I hope this helps.

I dont know how to change the language on my HP mini from french to english

Hi there,
What operating system are you using?
from the keyboard hold down the windows key then press the letter R.
The run box should come up, type in intl.cpl
This will open the regional settings of the computer
The first tab should be format. Change it to english.
Clicl the third button (apply) on the bottom and then click the first botton (OK).
Note: Only applies for computers which has other languages installed.
IF you are using windows xp there may not be a way but to grab a XP english cd and reinstall it.

How to unlock password for a HP 2140 Mini-Note

If you are talking about the login to Windows password then here is one way to do it:
Create a bootable USB stick using this tool: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/

Use the image from Ophcrack to load onto the USB: http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/download.php Choose the XP LIVE CD Option
1. Download the YUMI exe to your desktop 2.. Save the LIVE CD of Ophcrack to your desktop. 3. Plug in the usb stick you want to use (make sure it is at least 500MB. 1GB if possible) 4. Run the YUMI EXE and follow the instructions. Make sure to choose the USB Drive Letter ("D:" E:" etc) 5. Choose the Ophcrack ISO for the image. 6. Install to USB 7. Click Finished and exit the program and close any other open programs. 8. Restart the computer. Leave USB plugged in. 9. As soon as the computer restarts, tap the F10 button to enter the BIOS Menu. 10. Scroll to the Boot / Advanced Menu and change the boot order to USB first, HDD second. 11. Save and exit BIOS. Computer will restart. 12. Once booted up the computer will bypass the HDD and boot into the USB 13. elect Ophcrack from the list and hit Enter. 14. Follow the on-screen instructions to have Ophcrack force the password.

(If you're using Linux then use the Linux LIVE CD Image instead of XP)

When I turn on my 1120NR mini netbook - all I get is the cursor. Nothing is running. When I first bought it - it started up and worked for about 20 minutes. I have only had it a month.

Hello.

I would strongly suggest that you return this mini to the manufacturer for a replacement. It has not worked correctly. If it was brand-new and only worked for 20 minutes, there is a serious problem. Sounds like a faulty motherboard.

Hope this helps.

I was given an HP Mini 1120NR netbook as a gift. The system came with Linux OS installed. My system crashed due to a power failure while I was restoring my system and simulatneously charging my battery,...

first error is step on, never install OS with bad or dead battery
rule 1. so why not stop now and do step one right.
if battery is bad it must be removed and replaced.
as most are this old. ,never seen own old battery like this still good.

This LP stink, have one new parked in attic. hated it.
love Linux do but had the slug processor.
1.60 GHz Intel Atom Processor N270
see that processor, its not a real Intel top class processor
its toy grade.
this mini is setup to boot 2 ways
1 is ROM linux inside
and 2, vista?

mine has a rom imbedded Linux in it that runs using alt boot mode.
but is hard coded in the ROM.
called RESIDENT LINUX. (or techs call it Embedded)

is that failing? or the DVD OS failing?>
the note book can have
ROM LINUX (for ever, its in A CHIP, not HDD)
+ boot hdd linux. boot hdd, XP or Vista.
as you can see you could have 2 linux,
one in rom, and newer one in HDD.
but many linux made do not support the silly ATOM processor.

which OSs are you attempting.

why not buy the HP media kit installs.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-mini-1100-pc-series/3875650/model/3860343

here is the driver pages
the media kits are there too.

ask more questions, i played with mine awhile., before parking it.
the claim to fame on this unit
is hDD turned off
boot to rom LINUX and battery lasts 10 hours
can cruse web and read email, on ROM.
very crafty idea but processor is stinker.
maybe ill put in an SSD and see if it can run faster. next winter

I have an HP mini notebook will not connect.

No problem at all.
Some files of System32 which are important operating system files might have got corrupted.
Take a back-up of all the critical data saved on the computer
Format the whole computer or just format the drive that contains the Windows installed.
Re-install the Windows using the Recovery disc provided by HP.
Immediately install a good combo software including anti-virus, firewall, anti-spyware, anti-rootkit.
Copy back all the saved data. after scanning thoroughly

This is sure to help

HP PSC 2210 All-In-One InkJet

Hi,

I undertand that you are receiving a blank page when printing from computer.

Please follow the below given instructions to get the issue resolved which is caused due to DEP feature of Operating sytem.

Disable the Data Execution Prevention in Windows XP and check by following the below steps:

1. Click on Start

2.Control Panel->System->Advanced->Performance->Settings->Data Execution Prevention

It needs to be set to "Turn on for essential windows programs only", which is the default.

If you set it to "Turn on for all programs except those I specify", then the all-in-one driver stops working and you get blank pages.

1) Right-click on My Computer, and select Properties.

2) Click on the Advanced tab.

3) Under Performance, click Settings.

4) Click the Data Execution Prevention tab.

5) Select the Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select: option.

6) Click Add....

7) Browse to C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3\hpzeng05.exe
Or
C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3\hpzeng07.exe

and click Open.

8) Click Apply.

9) Click OK, and OK again.

Then restart the computer so as the chages to be effective
