Question about HP Deskjet F4180 All-in-One InkJet Printer

Everytime I go to print a document, it won't print. I go to open all active printers and it has documents I've tried to print in the past that didn't end up printing, and I go to delete or cancel the document to clear it and it won't do it. And then it says error.

1. make sure to check if the hardware is able to make color copies, that way u can be sure there is no harware issue. 2. You can download and run an HP utility tool that can help you fix the problem instantly from this page: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&lang=en&softwareitem=mp-91788-1 3. If you still get the same issue, restart the computer and check the print queue. If there are no print jobs in the queue, you resolved the issue. 4. If print jobs remain in the queue, check the connection between the HP printer and the computer, make sure USB is properly seated if its a USB connection, otherwise if it's wireless, make sure both devices are connected to the network. 5.If issue still persists,make sure the printer is set to online. 6.Manually clear the print queue, restart the comp then try printing again. &. If #6 doesn't resolve the issue.Restart the print spooler by clicking on Control Panel, then double-click Administrative Tools .Double-click Services--In the list of Services , double-click Print Spooler . CClean The MX882 ADF (Automatic Document Feeder)

Be sure to turn off the power and unplug the power cord before cleaning the machine.


  • The power cannot be turned off while the machine is sending or receiving a fax, or when the received fax or unsent fax are stored in the machine's memory. Make sure if the machine completed sending or receiving all the faxes before disconnecting the power cord.



  • The machine cannot send or receive faxes when the power is turned off.



  • If you unplug the power cord, all the faxes stored in the machine's memory will be deleted.


    Print the necessary faxes or save them to the memory card/USB flash drive before unplugging the power cord.


  1. Open the Document Tray.

  3. With a soft, clean, lint-free and dry cloth, wipe off any paper dust from the inside of the Document Feeder Cover (A).

I just replaced 2 of the ink cartridges, and now the printer isn't printing anything at all on the paper. I ran the clean printerhead function, and it printed the results of that. But, when I go to...


Make sure the problem isnt with the PC, print a document but dont send it to the printer, print it to a document(it will be listed as shown here)d_schrute_3.png
If the document contains the text/pictures you wanted to print then the job is spooling properly. Make sure your printer drivers are up to date by downloading the latest from HP Customer Care. Also try copying what you want or screen shotting it and pasting it into word or another program like paint or notepad.

My Dell V505 printer won't print documents from the computer, when I press print the printer prints a page of dash's and ticks. there is ink in the cartridges. i've disconnected the power....


Turn the printer off.
Disconnect the AC power.

On your computer, click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Printers
Select the Dell Printer
Uninstall it
Restart your computer
Turn the printer on
Allow the computer to reinstall the device-device for the printer.
Print a test page.

When printing, sentences over lap so the document is unreadable. Also it may only print the first line of a document.


Hi,

I've seen word documents do this sometimes and fixing it has worked differently each time.

1) Open the document and press CTRL + A (select all) on the keyboard and then CTRL + C (copy), then start a new document and press CTRL + V (paste). Save the new document as something different and try printing again.

2) Open the document again and select all and copy again,but this time open wordpad (a different program to Microsoft Word) by going to Start > Programs > Accessories > Wordpad, and paste the text into wordpad. This may change some of the formatting. Now, select all again, and copy, and start a new word document and paste.

Copying the text out of word and back in seems to work more often. Sometimes the best program to copy out to is notepad, but you lose pretty much all of the formatting when you copy back into word.

3) If this doesn't work, you could try to update your printer drivers, and if that doesn't work, as a last resort, you can delete the printer and create it again via the Control Panel > Printers.

Authorware Printscreen doesnt print actual document fullsize


Try printing document thru your printer rather than Printscreen feature. Or Printscreen feature copies to clip board which you should be able to open and paste to new document then use your printer set up to adjust. Make sure your printer set up is set to scale to fit page.

I can't print image. I have a BMP image, and I want to print this image. How can I do that?


Try copying and pasting the bmp image into a (Word) document. (Other applications such as powerpoint and graphics programs would also work). After resizing the image you should be able to print this document.

Step by step... open the bmp image with an application such as Paint. Do a Select All, then a Copy; open up Word, and Paste into the document. Then resize the bitmap within Word.
