Have a vip625 receiver i want split the tv1 signal and use the remote in another room

kdsix,

You can split the signal from TV1 if it is connected via a coax cable. All you would have to do is run that TV1 connection into a 2-way splitter, then run a connection from each of the ports to a different TV.

The TV1, however, is still IR so you wouldn't be able to change channels from another room unless it has a clear shot to the receiver. If you have any other questions, let me know!

Cant record two programmes at once

Well no matter the DVR, you should be able to record 2 programs at once...but you CANNOT watch a 3rd live while they are recording...also, if your DVR is hooked up to more than one tv and someone is watching something else in the other room, it will not record 2 at once, either. You can watch RECORDED programming while 2 others are recording, but not live tv.
You might want to check how many "inputs" your DVR has...most have 2 which allows the double recording...if you have an older DVR maybe you only can do one at a time. On my DISH box, they call these "TV1" and "TV2".

Hope this helps.

I have two vip 622 in my house and with one i can watch hd channels on both tv 1 and 2 but on my newest one i can only watch hd channels on tv1 and on tv 2 it says looking for satelite both have identical...

You may have a bad port on the back of the receiver, a cut or disconnected wire somewhere on that side of the system or a bad diplexer if the system is not straight wired to TV2.
The easiest way to verify whether the port on the receiver is bad is to connect that line directly to TV 1 off the back of the receiver. Remember to place TV one on the CHANNEL TO CHECK IF IT IS GOOD. If you have picture then you have a bad diplexer.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Remote will not work on #2 TV satilight

It could be the distance the remote is from the antenna. Try going to the receiver and pressing the guide button on said remote. Go back to TV 2 and see if it is up. If not go back to tv 1 and with TV1 ON AND TV1 REMOTE IN HAND press MENU-MENU. You will be able to see the remote addresses for the remotes toward the bottom of the page. With TV2 remote in hand press and hold the SAT button in the upper left of the remote until all buttons across the top illuminate. Now press in a two digit number between 2 and 15. Press the pound sign and the SAT button will flash thrice. Now press record a few times until you see the TV2 icon on the screen blink and the address is the same as you keyed. Exit out of the menu with TV1 remote. Go to tv 2 and try. You should be good to go. If your remote worked when you brought it close to the receiver you need to relocate the antenna on the back of the receiver to the room TV2 is in.
Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Adding tv to a dish network dvr

Your upstairs tv is connected via a coaxial cable and you can do a few things to get programming to the third room.

The first is to locate the wire that enters the upsairs room that currently has tv and insert a splitter by cutting the line to that room and running the out ports to the rooms and the in port to the other end of the wire that you cut. This will give you the same picture in both rooms.
If you have a system that does not use diplexers to backfeed the second TV you can backfeed the 3-4 cable going to the TV1 by cutting the line and adding a splitter with the inport running to the 3-4 port on the receiver and one of the out ports going to your tv1 and the other outport going into the UHF side of a diplexer. You will need to cut the Satellite feed into the back of the receiver on the back side of the seperator and connect the seperator to the SAT port of the diplexer. The IN/OUT port of the diplexer will connect to the end of the sat feed cable that goes to the wall plate. This will allow you to go into the attic of outside of the house and find the sat cable that feeds the TV one and break it there and put the IN/OUT port of that diplexer facing the TV1 room and the SAT port connecting to the other end of the cable you broke. The remaining UHF port will be the feed for the new room that you wish to connect. This set up will allow for viewing the same program as that at the TV1 location however you will need to change the channels at the TV1 location or buy an IR to UHF converter to allow you to be able to work the system independently from the receiver. Hope this answered your question. IF you need further assistance please contact me and thanks for using Fix Ya.

Problem with DISH DVR 625

You can accomplish this by either going to the specific TV and selecting the record option at the time the program is about to come on or you can press menu-8-5 and change the record preferences. You can either set the DVR to record programs to the TV2 location by default or TV1 by enabling the record plus feature. In dual mode without record plus enabled all programs you select to record default to the tuner you are viewing e,g, if watching tv1 and selecting to record a program in the future it will record to the tv1 location. In single mode all recordings default to tv2 so you can continue to watch live tv from tv1. I hope this answers your question and thanks for using Fix Ya. Let me know if I can further assist you.

Hi,my brand new UHF remote wont operate the #2 tv??

Go to the tv 1 location with your TV2 remote. Turn TV1 on and using TV1's remote press menu-menu. You will be at the System Info Screen. Take TV2 REMOTE and press and hold the SAT button on the top left until all buttons on the top light up. Release the SAT button. Now key in a two digit number from 1to 16 and press the # key. The SAT button will flash three times. Now press the record button until the remote address for TV2 changes to the number you chose. When accomplished exit out of the screen with th TV1 remote and you should now be able to control TV 2. As a precaution ensure the remote antenna is on the back of the receiver. If you still have difficulty it may be required to move the remote antenna closer to TV2. I hope this answers your question. Thanks for using Fix Ya and let me know if I can of further assistance.
