Question about Bosch SHU9915UC Dishwasher

1 Answer

My SHU9915UC was probably installed by the previous owner in 2002. It is not working properly, may be the impeller or pump is jammed. Is it worth spending a few hundred dollars to fix it or spend another few hundred and get a new one?

This model new was around $1000 dollars. I would put a few bucks into to get it back up and running. The most common issue is the circulation pump. The pump freezes up and will often cause this issue.

Pump has Power but no reaction with the water.

Probably a broken or jammed impeller. The impeller side of the pump needs taking apart to check it.

Not totally draining

Try these:

Check sink drain and drain hose for restrictions
  • Unjam the motor
  • Unjam the pump
  • Check the drain valve
  • Check the drive belt
  • Test the timer motor
  • If you have a brand new dishwasher or garbage disposer, check the knock out plug on the garbage disposer.

Laguna water garden pump just quit working

Possible causes: Electrical or Mechanical. For Electrical - Check to make sure power is coming to the outlet/cord it is plugged into. If there is a GFCI on the circuit, make sure it is reset.
Mechanical: If something got sucked into the pump it may have caused the impeller to stop and/or the pump to overheat. Some models have an thermal override that will shut the pump off if it overheats. If it is a magnetic drive pump, the impeller can probably be saved, if it is a direct drive, it may have gotten damaged by the jam. Unplug the pump and carefully disassemble the portion where the water goes in to determine if something got sucked into the impeller mechanism.

Dishwasher will not pump water out

Described in owners manual, there's access to pump impeller from within the dishwasher, impeller stalls when gunk accumulates in it.
There's 1 Philips screw to remove, then a plastic plate, and you will see the impeller.
I suspect that the impeller seal also causes the pump to sieze, but not completely sure of that.

Good Luck

Dishwasher will not pump water out

The impeller of the pump-out pump siezes OR the impeller siezes because the water seals inhibit it from turning.
Problem well described in Owners Manual.
Yo may need to empty with a bucket initially.
Under the filter plates, there's a plastic access cover to the impeller.
You need to remove 1 Philips Head screw, the cover lifts off, and you can see the impeller, it is about 25mm (1") in diameter.
Remove any foreign material in or around the impeller.
Spin the impeller by hand.... it sometimes feels a little resistant, as though the seals on its shaft are gripping it.... this is OK.
Reassemble and try it out.

Good Luck

Dishwasher does not start. Confirmed power is making to dishwasher. It is as if there is no power to control panel - no led's or lights. Do not know how to follow power for further troubleshooting? Any...

Same symptomz, but slightly over a gallon of water remaining in bottom of washer. Found following with google:

sounds like something is jammed in drain pump. pull out screens and on left side of sump (looking down into bottom, 9:00 position) has a torx screw holding cover over drain pump, remove screw, cover has tab towards backside to lift towards you. glass is clear in water. .if no debris , spin impeller blades to see if jammed/frozen. if so, replace drain pump from front left side.

There was stuff there but impeller OK. Noticed electrical diagram near mains connection -- would be useful had I not noticed that one of the twist-on plastic insulators showed signs of overheating. Shut off power, removed an inch of insulation, retwisted new twist-ons, and repowered. Everything now works perfectly.

Our filter pump has stopped working. It just doesn't turn on. Our pool wasn't completely full so it was probably taking air in too. Can you awnser please?

If the pool filter has stopped working, check all of your connections and hoses for cracks or ill fittings. Make sure that your impeller is not jammed. However, if you left the filter running without proper water flow, it is very possible that you burned up your motor. If this is the case, you will have to replace the filter.

Replace pool motor

First you'll need to take the outer 6 bolts off the pump housing and that will allow you to remove the impeller and impeller housing with the motor. Then you can remove all the impeller parts and get to the bolts that hold your motor to the housing....
When you get the impeller and the housing free, check to see if your motor will turn... alot of times the motors get jammed because the pump sucks debris and jams in the impeller.... you may be able to still use your motor...worth a try...
