I think when you first start it up, hit the "delete" button and it should take you to the bios.

Resetting the CMOS password on an Acer Aspire laptop is much more difficult than resetting the password on a desktop.
Disassembly steps vary from model to model, but on most models, you'll have to take apart the computer to access the CMOS battery.
Don't take apart the notebook if you don't have experience disassembling PCs.
After turning off the computer and disconnecting the AC adapter, take out the battery (different from the CMOS battery).
All visible screws must then be removed from the bottom of the notebook.
Remove all components stored to their separate compartments on the base of the notebook.
Turn over and open the PC. Lift up the switch cover and remove the screws securing the keyboard to the PC, if any are visible.
Remove the keyboard.
Remove the screws securing the monitor to the hinges, and then set the monitor aside.
Disconnect all visible cables connected to the motherboard; and then remove the screws from the top cover.
Remove the top cover to reveal the motherboard. Locate and then remove the CMOS battery. Leave it out of the notebook for 24 hours; then reinstall it and reassemble the Acer Aspire.
Other Options
If removing the CMOS battery fails to clear the password, or if you dont feel comfortable with the idea of opening your computer, you might be able to gain access to the computer using a backdoor password.
These special passwords were implemented to allow technicians to access locked computers. Not all models recognize backdoor passwords.
Most Acer Aspires use the Phoenix BIOS, and backdoor passwords for this BIOS include BIOS, CMOS, phoenix and PHOENIX.
All of these passwords are case-sensitive.

How to remove bios password

Hi JM,
On the motherboard, there are jumpers to reset the board, but you have to do it while the power is off. you can go HERE and put in your system info, which may help you find out how to do this or to reset the password without jumping the system. I found on another site the following:
"If the user can boot the Acer, he/she may be able to reset the BIOSpassword using Acer eSettings Management.
  • Click the Start button
  • Click the All Programs menu item
  • Click the Empowering Technologymenu item
  • Click the Acer eSettings Managementmenu item
  • Once inside Acer eSettings Management, click the Securitybutton.
Acer refuses to assist customers with BIOS password issues. The only option they discuss involves sending the laptop to them and paying a $100 fee."
I hope this is helpful to you

How to reset bios password acer aspire 4315 without removing d cmos battery? I ever try to use default password for bios phoenix, but useless. so please help me coz I want to reinstal windows, change it...

I fix laptops and when I get an Acer laptop locked with an unknown bios password I use www.unlockbiosrecovery.com to get the bios master password for only $20 which clears any set bios password and they guarantee it to work. I have unlocked a dozen or so Acver laptops with unlockbiosrecovery.com bios password recovery service.

Hello, can help me, my laptop ACER EXTENZA 4630 SERIES, why i can open the password bios when i re install the laptop..? thanks

Yes by default the bios is unprotected/no password. All you have to do if you want to setup bios password just go to bios then create supervisor password then it will have password everytime you need to access the bios. For info. bios password is not related to re-installation / installing your OS.

Acer extensa 4220 bios password

There's no way that we can determine the BIOS password of your laptop. But if you can disassemble your laptop and locate the CMOS battery you can remove the CMOS battery to reset the BIOS together with the password. After resetting the CMOS battery you will no longer be asked to enter a password for the BIOS when you turn on your computer. However, there are instances that even though you reset the CMOS it's still asking for the password, for this concern, the computer manufacturer should deal with this concern.

I have acer travelmate 2480 model laptop...i tried chaning my password by entering into the bios settings..af ter restarting the laptop...it was asking for password..as i enter the password for 3 times..it...

The only way to reset the bios password is to remove the cmos, in order to do this you need to strip the laptop and the cmos battery is located on the motherbored you need to remove this for a few minutes,
if you not sure then take it to a specialist or look for a manual on line

BIOS password locked

Try to reset the CMOS using CMOS jumper reset. Look this in its manual how to do it.

Or take out the CMOS battery out of its socket then place it back again this should clear CMOS and restore to its default setting. Without the BIOS password.

Need to reset bios password for acer 4620 laptop. tryed removing battery on mb . no good . ? passmord bios

Try removing the main battery and the CMOS battery (ie the battery on the mb). If you don't want to wait for 1/2 hour for the CMOS to discharge then short out the CMOS battery connections with a bent paper clip.
Then without instralling both battery, power up your laptop, you should then get into the BIOS, power off and re-install your batteries.

Reset Your CMOS Battery... You will have to access the CMOS battery on the motherboard of the laptop...... and Pull it out for a good 5 minutes... (with some motherboards you will also have to short out the J1 Jumper pin... to do this use needle nose pliers and touch one end to the J1 pin and the other to the post sticking out of the motherboard which is your ground.then press the Power on and back off quickly.)..
Once the CMOS resets.. you should be rid of the password option...
