The aspect ratio on the HD channels are full screen - which is correct. However all other channels have the incorrect aspect ratio. (reduced size) A solution please???

Many times HD channels will come in more clear, but with a smaller picture or widescreen view. There should be a button on your remote called 'wide' or 'zoom' and it will let you adjust the size on the fly. If you adjust the view while watching an HD channel, and you switch to a standard channel, you will have to change the ratio back. My Brand New 40" westing

To get HD channel form your cable TV without using the cable provider HD tuner box but using your TV Clear QAM tuner (your TV has Clear QAM tuner, my TV also has QAM tuner so I do not have to use the cabel box, but my COMCAST does not provide may Clear QAM signals like they use to) to get the unscrambled HD, the cable provider must provide those unscrambled Clear QAMsignals for your TV to pick up the signalS.

Did you use the correct setup during the tuner setup to scan the availabel cable channel per user manual?

Would you please give me some tips on how to use my tv to the best of its potential? Also how does my model differ from some of the others, what are my models pros&cons. Thank you.

The best input for a set that is 1080p is HDMI cables, but that is only clear as the input coming to it. What is really HD is a Channel on Air that broadcast in HD on air, this is with an Antenna. Some cable channels says this and some Dish or Direct says this also but if it's not HD broadcast then it does not look like it. It should be as clear as DVD or Blue Ray.

HD channel picture is clear, but regular digital picture scramble

o.k. check all your connections
if you have a newer house check to see if you have a main hub in a closet somewhere and check all connections. Check your hd receiver and you may be able to chage the DPI the receiver receives in.

I have this problem on some of my non HD channels, also. So much for going digital. I get fuzz and pixel problems "from time to time", but, if it is really bad and consistent your should call your service provider.

Things to ask also ? are you using cable or satellite.

If satellite T.V. there are other reasons you could be experiencing problems.

hope this helps!

Pixilization on non hd channels with hdmi cable connected to HDPVR receive. HD channels come in crystal clear, non hd channels are all bitmapped and horrible

Your TV is not at fault, it is showing you the difference between HD and non HD channels. HD TV's work great with HD scorces but don't usually look that great with standard definition, Also the non-HD channels are more likely to be heavily compressed which makes them look bad too.

I HAVE A SUMSUNG THAT IS HD, BUT IT'S NOT HDMI,i GET REGULAR CHANNELS, BUT WHEN I SWITH TO A HD CHANNEL, IT IS ALL SCRAMBLED? WHY?

I assume you have cable. The cable HD and digital channels are usually sent in Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM). The cable companies are required to send local channels in the clear but not so for any others. Regular (basic) channels may be clear or scrambled. USA many not be but HBO will be.
So you have 1 of 2 problems: (1) your TV does not do QAM or (2) they have scrambled the channels you want to see. Questions: (1) Have tried direct Over-the-Air (OTA, ATSC) reception for your locals? (2) Can you see the HD local channels on cable? (3) Are you paying for an HD box from the cable company to have the channels decoded? If in doubt contact the cable company.
Current Samsung TVs do do QAM and OTA HD. Alternatives are Dish or Direct to get satellite with an HD receiver using HDMI or 5-cable RCA. Costs are comparable but OTA wins, hands down. -Ken

Loss of connection on certain HD channels

If you are using a cable box, the TV can't be the trouble since it is always staying on the same channel. You pick your channels through the box. You'll need to contact your cable provider and describe the trouble you are having. It might be a problem in their box or transmission line.

Am i getting hdtv with just cable feed?

Depending on your cable provider, some of the HD channels may be present. If so, these are ususally located in the upper channel numbers. It sounds like you are receiving some of the HD lineup. A cable box will probably allow you to view more HD channels including the premium HD channels if you subscribe to them. You should not be noticing a delay with the HD channels only. If this is what you are experiencing without a cable box, then it would be an issue with the HD tuner built into your TV set. LG customer service can let you know if there are any software updates available for yourmodel that can resolve this. Additionally, if you are getting your sound from an Home Theater system then you will notice an echo if using the TV's built in speakers at the same time. This is sometimes mistaken as an audio delay. If you are using a home theater system, be sure to disable the speakers that are built into your system.
