SOURCE: nail gun wont fire

First - the air pressure has to be high enough - check the regulator on the tank to make sure it is delivering in excess of 60-70 psi (which I am sure you have already done).

If you have dry fired these guns (i.e. shot them off with no nails in them while you were lubricating them maybe) the mechanism inside could be damaged. I had that happen to one of my nailers (same brand). That was when I learned not to dry fire them...

Since both of them are not working though I would be more inclined to look at the air supply first.

SOURCE: Dewalt cordless nail gun fires but doesn't seem to

Try another brand of nails -- maybe your gun doesn't like those. Also, blow any dirt out of the nail magazine.

GUN FIRES BUT NAIL DOESN'T COME OUT

I am assuming the driver travels down but misses the nail, if so the end of the driver pin may be worn, a quick fix is to touch the end of the driver on a grinding wheel to reface it, ensure you remove the least amount of material possible to maintain the driver length, if this doesn't fix the problem you may need to replace the front plate

Worn trigger valve orings will cause gun to fire twice, and /or attempting to single fire nail with bump-fire trigger. Easy test, look closely at firing pin under trigger. It should fit snuggly an not move from side to side in valve. If loose, replace valve. If your nailer has bump-fire trigger, do no attempt to place gun then fire one shot because the gun will most likely double fire. Good luck.

Gun fires mor than one nail at a time porter cable model da 250a 15 ga. finish nailer

There are two issues that people have with nailers that sound the same however are totally different. Firing more that one nail at a time can be taken as; two nails being driven with one fire or the nailer vary rapidly firing a second time almost instantly after firing the first nail and each time only drive one nail. Problem of double fire (either type) is very common with nailers (the gun very quickly fires twice), however two nails at once can only happen if the wrong gauge nails are used in the gun. A 15 g nailer can very easily pass two 18 g nails or, with more difficulty, pass two 16g nails. To help prevent the driver blade from hitting two nail heads at once, most drivers are slightly tapered at the tip so that the driver will hit the first nail and the tapered part will push the other nails back into the rails slightly. Remove the head of the nailer and pull out the driver. Measure or compare the thickness of the driver to the thickness of the nail head. If you are sure that you are using 15 gauge nails, check the driver for taper. The tapered part should face the rails. If not tapered, try carefully grinding a taper keeping the tip cool so that you do not effect the hardness. You could also check for other brands of 15 g nails with slightly more spacing between the nails. There is a big difference in quality among brands of nails. Good luck with your repair

Paslode impulse cordless nail gun, doesn't pull the piston back far enough to catch the next nail, so when I fire it no nail is picked up by the firing pin. batteries are good(new), cylinder is new, any...

This is an easy fix luckily usually it means that the chamber is dirty and all you have to do is open the top front of the gun so that you can see the piston then take a q-tip and clean the area really well sometimes it requires a degreaser and then when you think that you have it clean make sure to lubricate the chamber really well with the paslode lubricant that came with the gun or they sell it right next to where you get the nails. Then the gun should work fine with no problem if this does not work then this means that the piston might be bent and that could turn into a big problem but is still fixable just harder.

Hope that this works for you

Using a wire "toothbrush" size brush, clean the track in front of the gun where the pin slides - where the nail groove is. **** particles from the nails and the plating from the nails sluffs off fouling the path and causes the pin to stick. After several cleanings of my gun, I noticed that this brushing of the track the firing pin follows keeps it operating for several days without the problem recurring!

Dewalt dc618 nailer is not firing

I have both the DC616 and 618 and have used them sucessfully for about three years. Two main things go wrong. There is a drive belt that breaks (drives the spool that give the energy to drive in the nails), second are two small rubber bands on either side of the drive head that break. The bands can be accessed by taking off the front silver cover, the drive belt is access by spliting the case. Make sure you are using the correct nails or the drive pin may become bent and will jamb repeatedly. Hope that helps!

Nail Gun Problem

Professional-grade varieties are automatic, and fire a nail directly upon pulling the trigger. A semi-automatic nail gun is more appropriate for beginners, since it requires a two step process: pull the trigger and then tap the barrel against the wood. This safety feature protects the user from accidentally firing a nail gun and injuring himself or others.
