Water leaks from main inlet tube into washer while not in use, model GHW9100L

  • libbymundy Oct 24, 2008

I have the same problem, the other day I left the door open and went to work and the washer was off and when I came home their was water all over the floor. Then a few days later the washer was closed and it did the same thing. If I don't get my clothes out right away they smell. I thought for a while that the water was not spinning out correctly but now I think the water is coming back in the tub. Can someone please help me find a solution to the problem

Water is leaking from the bottom of the door while in the wash and or rinse cycle

Hi,

  • Check the pump & all of the hoses first.
  • If you see water leaking from the bottom of the tub this could indicate a bad tub seal.

Leaking water from dispenser

Hi, the problem here is going to be a blockage between the dispenser and the tub. Take the top off the washer (3 screws along the back) then once the lid is off you will see the large pipe between the dispenser and the tub. Take this pipe off and check for a blockage (most likely a sock) Once the blockage has been cleared you will be all fixed :) If you have any other questions please feel free to comment. Mike

Water leaking from under washer

Hi

You'll need to open the machine and check for the leaks in the hose connected to the drain pump. Also check if the clamp connecting the drain filter and hose is tight. Also check these things for leaks---

Main tub seal - The main tub seal is located between the transmission and the outer tub. It's the primary water seal in the outer tub for the transmission-shaft entry point. If this seal leaks, you can see the leak by opening up the machine's main access panel while the machine is full of water with a small amount of detergent in it. The leak appears at the underside of the outer tub, at or near the center. This seal is difficult to replace.

Pump - If the pump leaks, you can probably spot the leak when the tub is full of water. The pump has two or more black rubber or plastic hoses attached to it and usually has a drive belt that spins the pump. If the pump is leaking, you'll need to replace it.

Please do rate this solution as FixYa if found useful and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Water leaking on the floor while filling

Open the back of the washer. Start the fill cycle and observe where the water is leaking from. You are not going to get a full view of the entire tub by only opening the lower front access.

hi there,

looks like you may have a pinched hose or the fitting is overtightened or not tightened enough. turn off the water supply and check the water inlet hose. you can usually tell if the fittings are stripped or not tight enough.
