Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I'm trying to print photos and there appears to be lines going across if you're looking at the paper in portrait view and down if you're looking at it in landscape. I went to preferences and chose the best photo option and the lines weren't as large as before, but they were smaller and still visible. Could it be the paper? I'm using Kodak Gloss Photo Paper.

Tally genicon 6605 is printing from top to bottom of the page...what could be the problem

I think it depends on what you mean by printing from top to bottom of the page.
If you are describing the print being rotated by 90 degrees so rather than a line of print going across the page from left to right, the print goes up and down the length of the page.
The most common cause of this is that you are printing from a Windows application and you have set the page orientation to LANDSCAPE rather than PORTRAIT.
With in the application you are printing from look for the PAGE SETUP options ensue you select PORTRAIT.
This should rotate the print.

This evening I bought a new HP Photosmart C4780 printer. I am trying to print photos now and the photos are being printed with small vertical lines across the whole photo. How do I get rid of them?

> I bought a new printer

Take it back, and get one that does work correctly.

> VERTICAL lines ACROSS the whole photo

Hold the paper in "portrait" mode, not "landscape" mode.
Are the lines HORIZONTALLY-ACROSS the paper,
or VERTICALLY-DOWN the paper?

If those lines are WHITE and HORIZONTAL,
then some of the many ink-jets inside the print-head are *CLOGGED*.
Run a "print-head-cleaning-cycle" to try to unclog it.
Or, exercise the WARRANTY, and get it replaced.

At college we have a w7200, how can we print across the paper rather than down it, for example a panoramic image across the width of the paper and say 20cm high

Try selecting LANDSCAPE as opposed to PORTRAIT by using the proper print menu in your application rather than the simple print icon from most tool-bars.

You can usually find it in the FILE menus

Canon MP980 prints horizontal pink lines across

try to change the color ink. horizontal banding (the pink or other color lines appearing means horizontal banding) when there is a problem on one of the heating element of the printer head. since almost all canon printers have head built in the inks, replacing the faulty ink will solve the problem. if not then the controller of printhead on the carriage and mainboard needs to be checked.

Epson Stylus Pro 4800 Never Before Seen Banding Problem

Clean the nozzles, align the print heads, turn it off for about an hour. You may need to do this twice, but it works for me.

the glossy paper you are using (hp) is smearing the ink... there is now ink on the feed rollers and you need to get in there and clean it all up with alcohol...also run epson matt paper for a few prints to get the color to lay down ..good luck

Can i print the image smaller?

  1. Select the 'Page Setup' tab and under 'Printing Type', select 'Scaled Printing'.

    scalled_printing_%28windows%29_1.gif

  2. In 'Page Size', select the paper size specified in the application. If you select a size that cannot be selected in your printer, a message will display informing you that the setting has been changed to 'Fit-to-page' printing. Select 'Scaled Printing' again.

    scalled_printing_%28windows%29_4.gif

  3. In 'Orientation', select the same orientation as specified in the application (either Portrait or Landscape).

  4. In 'Printer Paper Size', select the paper size loaded in the printer. In 'Scaling', the magnification at which the document will print so as to fit exactly on the output paper size will appear as a reference value.

  5. In 'Scaling', specify the percentage. You can select from 20% to 400%.

  6. Click 'OK'.

Black lines on photo

Are the lines always in the same places? If they are, then I would try using different photo paper. Humidity plays a big factor when printing with any kind of paper and buying new paper would be a good start. Make sure that the paper is made for your printer specifically. You might also try printing on plain paper to see if you get the same results.
