Question about JVC AV-36D502 36" TV

Open Question

JVC AV-36D502 belonging to my 99 year-old father somehow got set to close captions (i managed delete the closed captions) and SAP. i cannot get the SAP setting changed to STEREO. using the menu i can get STEREO highlighted, but the TV is still in SAP mode. i don't understand exactly how things are selected in the menu--the manual says toggle up and toggle sideways, but says nothing about how to lock in changes. best i can do is make changes and quit the menu, but the SAP selection is unchanged after i have done that. thanks. keith

SOURCE: Can't shut off closed caption

I have the JVC I Art 46" TV. The Close Caption was turn on accidentally by my grandson. After lots of searching for the original remote. I called JVC Customer Support. He told me to change the Close Caption settings to CC2 and T1. That fixed the CC without having the original remote.

SOURCE: I have a JCC AV-32D305 television. I use Direct TV

Unfortunately JVC had closed caption buttons on the remote and that is the only way to change the CC settings. Go to www.remotes.com and check to see if they have a remote for your set. Thanks

SOURCE: JVC model AV-32750..... The close caption

just look in the section for closed captions----the box is the "text" feature and just needs to be turned off; if you did it without a remote it can be undone the same way.

Somehow you have turned on closed captioning in TEXT mode. Navigate the setup menus to find the closed captioning options and turn it off.

That should resolve the problem.

Probably the text box for closed captioning. Turn off the closed captioning and see if it goes away. If not, then, try setting everything back to the factory presets. Your manual will tell you how.

The closed caption or PIP functions in mostly all sets are only acessable trhough the menu.. You need the original remote to do this. If you dont have one go to http://www.remotes.com or call 1-800-remotes for inexpensive exact replacement remote controls. If you do have the original remote and can acesess the menu but the features are not there then theres a problem with the sets built in firmware and the only way to fix this would be to replace the sets microprocessor IC. Good Luck
