The front bearing needs to be replaced. You can get the whole maintenance kit for about the same price, so I would recommend doing that.

Yes it us the drum. I am thinking that it is one of the rollers/coasters that keep the drum up against the back of the dryer. In order to actually see if this is the problem we will need to take apart the dryer.
1) unplug dryer
2) open dryer door remove all screws
3) with a flat tip screwdriver gently pry on the two top corners(clips inside) until it pops
4) pull panel forward as we will need to disconnect the door switch
5) set panel aside (oh remember to put screws into a container)
6) lift up on the top panel til a 90, it is hinged won't fall
7) take careful notes of the routing of the belt, draw it out, take a picture etc.
8) remove belt(notice it was centered)
9) lift up and out on the drum
10) the rollers/coasters are bolted or should be to the back wall of dryer, and of circle shape. More then likely they are not.
11) Call an appliance parts store tell them what you need, remove bad rollers if need be take them with you.
12) replace rollers
13) re-insert drum making sure lip is behind new rollers
14) consult drawing/pictures of belt routing
15) route belt
16) notice belt is in middle of drum and drum can be turned by hand
17) find front panel, re-attach door switch
18) let top lid done and push it should click back
19) find screws
20) plug in dryer
Good Luck Tim

IT WILL NOT HEAT. how do i remove the heating element to replace

Is it gas or electric? It could have a bad timer, heating element, power problem, circuit breaker could have tripped, or blown fuse or burnt wires inside dryer. I believe the top pops off from inserting a screw driver between the top and front dryer frame and pushing in 2 clamps located near each side. Then the front unscrews from the inside. Or a bottom panel might come off same way underneath the door.

Hello Friend, This problem is real common in GE dryers. Your solution is simple. You need to replace the front drum bearing and glider pads. It's actually pretty simple to do. Just remove front of dryer cabinet. After removal just look at backside of dryer front around the inner door. You will see where the dryer drum has turned and wore a hole in the plastic piece above the dryer door. This piece is called the front drum bearing. Just unsnap this piece and snap in a new one. Be sure to replace the little plastic glide pads onto the top of the drum bearing before re-installing the dryer cabinet front. The front drum bearing and glider pads are sold seperately so make sure you have everything you need before you begin. This should solve your problem. Happy to help, Tim. Thanks.

Check door boot at tub. sometimes is ripped. also check your dryer...at the drum to front panel....felt could be worn and will cause clothes to catch.

Frigidaire Dryer. Clothes are damaged by either being ripped when caught on dryer drum. Clothes also are marked with hard to remove rub marks.

Open the dryer door. Reach in just inside and feel for the felt seal that goes all of the way around the drum. The culprit is usually the top portion of the seal which supports the end of the drum near the door is worn out. This allows the drum to tip down and leaves a gap at the bottom. Clothes get caught in this gap and get rubbed and marked or rubbed clear through. Remove the front of the dryer and replace the seal. On some models the top 1/3 is replaceable. This portion carries the weight of the drum and is what wears out.

Clothes getting stuck in door seal when drying.

the plastic that you see overlapping the metal on the sides of the opening is in two parts, top and bottom, you can see the seem. the top is the smaller part, this plastic is also the drum support on the front. There are some glides on the top section that wear with time, after a few years they may need replacement. Perhaps these are worn out dropping the drum creating an uneven gap and catching. there is also a felt strip in there between the front of the dryer and the drum, keeping it back.
To view this remove the top by removing the 2 screws inside upper door opening holding top down. then lift top and if plastic console slide to left then pull away, metal -just pull straight. remove 2 screws holding front to cabinet sides. pull front forward. glides are visible on top. if not there or worn thru plastic replace upper plastic support

Clothes catching inside at top of drum

IT sounds like you have a roller that is broken or the drum is off track...when a roller breaks or the support bracket that the roller is attached to has a screw loose and has shifted position and I surmise based on your description that the front left roller is affected or the drum is off track up toward the front of the dryer...that would make the front of the drum drop creating the situation you described. The only way to get to this problem depending on the brand...is to remove the top of the dryer...or the back of the dryer...and remove the drum...to access the rollers.....be careful to observe closely how the belt is attached to the spring loaded arm (tensioner) that keeps the belt tight...and replace it the way it came out. Any problems get back to me and I can walk anyone with good mechanical skills through exactly what to do.

Hope this helps....please rate me...the Fang
