SOURCE: kitchen aid dishwasher doesn't clean dishes in the top rack

Sounds like you have 1 of 2 problems. Either your pump is clogged or you need a bigger drain loop.

SOURCE: Kitchen Aid dishwasher is not cleaning like it use to

Check the following to address this issue further.

1. No water
Make sure you get water to the dishwasher. Check to see if the water shut-off valve (located under the sink) is open. If you get water to the dishwasher, but there is still no water inside during the fill cycle, the problem might be with a faulty water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side), in which case replace the water valve.

2. Not enough water
If there is not enough water, the dishes would not get cleaned. This could be caused by a partially closed water shut-off valve (located under the sink), or a faulty dishwasher water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side).

3. Clogged spay arms
There is usually two, sometimes three spray arms in a dishwasher. Make sure there is no debris blocking the holes inside each spray arm.

4. Water temperature is too low
To get the best results, the water has to be at 120 degrees Fahrenheit when entering the dishwasher.

5. Not enough soap
If you only fill one part of the soap cup, try adding soap to both parts.

6. Smoky film on dishes and glasses
This problem occurs due to excessive calcium build up inside the dishwasher. Try cleaning you dishwasher using a dishwasher cleaner. There are a few out there.

SOURCE: kitchen aid dishwasher not cleaning dishes well.

sounds like you have a broken chopper. have you checked the chopper how far have you taken it apart? if the unit is put back together point all wash arms in the same direction turn the dishwasher on after it has started washing give it about 2-3 minutes open the door and see what wash arm is not moveing. if the upper wash arm is not moveing you need to check the chopper.

The washer is filled up with water because it is at float level. So basically same water to clean again and again. You will have to remove kick panel at the bottom front for access to the pump and drain hose.

You need to remove the wash arms by turning the nut in the centre of the arm and remove, then unblock the holes that are in the arms and replace them, test if the arms now turn and you can see a differance then also check there is salt in the salt dispensor located at the bottom of the machine.

My Kitchen aide dishwasher doesn't seem to be spraying water during a cycle. It fills with water but that seems to be all. also is there some where that I can go to get a trouble shooting manual

the chopper sceen gets pluged and wont pump good.it's kinda ticky to get to you will need #15 torx bit to remove grab center of the spray arm and twist til arm will lift out, the tube going from center to back twists clockwise careful not to break it, take all the screws out of cover and take it out. in the sump tward front left down in bottom is 1 more screw if you have a wet vac or turkey baster to get water out to see it. it holds down a half round lift straight up you will see the screen clean it out and put everthing back

Water left in the bottom of a hobart (kit aid) dishwasher

Drain valve not opening, kinked or blocked drain hose. Remove the hose from the sink plumbing and look for debris. try running the drain hose into a bucket to eliminate a domestice plumbing issue, but hold onto it when it starts draining, or you will have a wet kitchen. Timer contacts may not be opening drain valve.
