Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

The "sd" code on your machine indicates the control has detected an excessive amount of detergent/suds, as you may or may not know. The draining sequence is an automatic "recovery routine" ( fills and drains to try and purge ) the control has initiated by design.

Here's what you can do...

Try selecting a normal cycle without any items added or detergent and selecting cold wash only. Run it through it's entire cycle...if it will. If it will not, try it again.

If this condition continues after several attempts, you can try adding two or three cups of "white" vinegar to the tub before filling it with cold water for another recovery attempt.

There are also products you can purchase to help this process such as "WasherFresh" or "Affresh" at many local grocers or hardware stores ranging from $5 - $10.

i.e.

The purpose is to help purge the inner tub and hoses of any excessive detergent built up, thus causing the "sd" error that is being detected by the control. Even though this is by appearance a "topload" washer, it still rquires the use of "He" detergents only, the container of detergent must show this label/symbol...

The recovery/purge may take some repeated attempts, but it will prove worth it in the end as it typically will resolve the problem.

Let me know how you make out or if I can assist you moving forward from there in any manner. Good luck and Thank you for choosing FixYa today.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

    Hello again,

That is unfortunate, it is always the first step to rule out the simple solution. The issue certainly has nothing to do with how the vinegar was added, but for the record...adding it directly into the tub is the correct manner.

Since that did not remedy the problem it means it is much more involved and can mean something obstructing the drive system, i.e. a sock or small item of clothing between the inner & outer basket or under the agitator not alowing the basket to engage during the rinse/drain commands.

    i.e.

**Unplug the washer from its AC outlet before proceeding...safety first**

The easiest place to start now is by removing the agitator. To do this first remove the small cap on top, then the 7/16" bolt, pull straight up (you may need to wiggle it back and forth until it lets loose.

    i.e.

Then you'll need to pull up on the agitator to remove it, this may take some "wiggling" as well, but it will come.

Once removed, you'll see the "hub" assembly. i.e.

Remove it and check for any debris under there. ( that what can prevent the basket from engaging, thus initiating the "sd" error ) If none present let me know and we can move forward from there.

**If you are up to it I can try and instruct you on how to pull the unit apart further to search for obstructions or you may opt to call in a pro.**

Keep me posted and I'll help in any manner I can of course. I can also provide you with a service manual for more detailed info if you want to provide an email address...It's your call.

    Good luck again.

    Regards,

    Macmarkus :)

    Hello,

So glad to hear my suggestion resolved your washer issue.

I am attempting to send the service manual via the email address posted, however it appears to not be a good email address or at least according to my windows live account.

If you'd like to try again or email me at macmarkus@live.ca I'll just send it via a reply to your message, insuring it will be received.

Thanks again for choosing FixYa. I hope you'll remember to rate the assistance I provided as very helpful and a short testimony is also appreciated.

Kenore Elite Oasis top loading washer wont spin during the spin cycle, but will rotate during wash and rinse cycles

Hello,

Since the motor turns regadless of the direction it turns itself is good and theirfore the problem with your washer i believe is going to be the control board,it is what tells the motor what direction and what speed to turn.

My Kenmore Elite Oasis washer unbalanced signal seems to be very sensitive. Only after several tries of readjusting the load to get it really even that the washer will spin without stopping. I made sure...

If the washer throws an UL error code with out any clothes in the washer then the issue must be concerned with the mechanical alignment inside the machine or a bad CCU.

The most common problem which can cause this is some sort of mechanical hinderance which does not allow the basket to move freely.

The suspension system which holds the basket in its place might be faulty and causing the unbalancing. In this model i think there are plastic ring at the bottom of the basket . Even if they are worn out or moved out of position it may cause the UL error code you are facing

F51 error

Hello, the F51 code is a motor rotor position sensor failure. It's best to call in the warranty service as there is a bunch of tests that need to be run to determine if it's the sensor or control board. If the tech wasn't any help, contact the store for a replacement.

Thanks
